"Where's Dad?"

"He's upstairs, I'll go get him."

"Okay."

Jungkook only asked for his father and not his mother because, as attentive to details as he was, he noticed that his mother's car wasn't outside, so he assumed that she was out.

Mr. Jeon's expression didn't change much upon seeing the two of them. He only said, "You're back."

Lisa didn't say anything. She quietly placed the fruit off to the side, washed some, placed them on a fruit platter, and carried it over.

Jungkook and his father talked for a while on the couch.

Then, the housekeeper said, "Sir, Young Master, Young Madame, dinner's ready."

"Okay." Jungkook and his father got up.

"Mom's out? Is she not coming home for dinner?" Jungkook asked.

"Yeah, she's been really into card games recently, and doesn't come back until late at night," Mr. Jeon complained.

"If it makes her happy, just let her be. As long as she doesn't become addicted to gambling," Jungkook consoled his father.

Mr. Jeon nodded...

The three of them sat around the dining table. Lisa didn't talk much, because she didn't know what to say.

She knew that this family didn't really welcome her...

Therefore, she quietly ate her food...

"Do you have any good news for us?" Mr. Jeon's voice suddenly broke the silence.

Jungkook and Lisa were surprised to hear his question...

Lisa even thought, Was he talking to me?

"Lis, my father is asking you a question." Jungkook smiled as he looked at Lisa.

"Ahem... not yet." Lisa lowered her head.

She was embarrassed to talk about stuff like this in front of Jungkook's father...

Then, Mr. Jeon nodded his head and said, "The two of you are old enough. Don't just think about your careers, hurry up and have a baby soon. My health is deteriorating by the day, and if I don't see a grandchild before I leave this world, I'll regret it forever."

"Dad... your body is fine, don't think like that," Jungkook consoled.

"Yeah... everything will be fine." No matter how estranged Lisa felt towards Jungkook l's parents, at the end of the day, she was still a woman.

She felt heartbroken by what Jungkook's father said....

"We're old, this world now belongs to your generation. Although... for your mom, Lisa is not the ideal daughter-in-law... fate is an incredible thing. In this world, not everything will go according to your plans. My health hasn't been so well recently, and I occasionally read and get to think about a lot of things. Since you guys are married, you should treat each other well. Being able to share a life together in this life means that you guys did something right in your last life. Treasure it."

"I will, Dad," Jungkook promised with a nod of his head.

Mr. Jeon then looked at Lisa and said, "No matter what happened, it's all in the past. Since we're family now, I really hope that you two can live happily ever after. I know that it won't help to apologize for that incident since we can't awaken the dead, but I still wanted to apologize. If I get a chance, I would also like to apologize to your mother. Our preposterous actions resulted in your family's tragedy."
