"Liu! Im Home! I found some of those flowers you were taking about, and this traveling merchant had some of that fabric you like so much." Macaque set down the basket of flowers, food, and a perfectly folded dress with a soft blue color, it was like a silky fabric.
"Oh! Also I found a few of berries! So we can make a berry pie like you were saying...Liu?" But he was only met with silence.

"Liu?" he called,
"LIU!" he called louder, the panic began to set it, "She's probably napping it's okay." he whispered to himself walking to the bedroom. He knocked on the door but nothing, he opened the door slowly,
"Liu? You sleeping?" When he opened the door he glanced to the bed. But no one was there, her side made while his was still half made.

Macaque swung open the door, the room was empty. Without a word he ran around the home, nothing, nothing, nothing, and nothing. His heart and mind raced,
"Shit! Shit! Shit!" he ran out and looked around.

He ran into the woods near their home, he ran through the forest calling her name,
"Liu! LIU! Gods- LIU WHERE ARE YOU!?" he screamed.

Macaque searched for Liu through the forest, for hours. But when night fell, she wasn't anywhere to be found. Tears began to stream from his eyes as he walked back to the house still calling her name the whole way. He entered and saw that everything in the house was untouched, and there was no sign of her presence. Her side of the bed was still made and untouched.

Until, there was soft talking, footsteps, and before Macaque could run to the door there was a knock. Macaque swung the door open,
"Wh-"
"MACAQUE!" Liu jumped into his arms, Macaque stumbled back wrapping her arms around her.
"LIU!" He spun her around hugging her tight, before he grabbed her by the shoulders looking her up and down for injuries, he held her face,
"Are you okay!? What happened!? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!?"
"I'm sorry!" she cried, "You were gone for longer than usual and I got worried! I thought I could walk along the trail you made but there was a noise and I freaked out- IM SO SORRY!" she hugged Macaque again.

Macaque could feel every worry, fear, and thought melt away now that she was back in safely around his arms.

"Aw, well I'll be on my way now! Bye Liu." a loud confident voice spoke, Macaque's eyes shot open.

He knew that voice.

Liu turned,
"Bye Ming, thank you so much!" she called out with a smile. Macaque looked up to the 7foot moth man with four arms and large wings. He tightened his grip,
"It's no problem, but please don't go out on your own again until your more comfortable with the environment. We don't want you getting lost for a 100 or so years do we?" he joked. Macaque only glared at Ming,
"Hey Macaque," Ming waved, feeling the tension.

Macaque pointed to him,
"You found...Liu..my wife..and brought her back here?"
"Well it wasnt that hard to find, she just told me in was on a mountain around a lily patch. Wasn't that hard to find." he shrugged. Macaque held Liu's hand tighter,
"Well, your help is appreciated...Ming." he spoke uneasy. He didn't know what to say. The last time they encountered each other they almost destroyed each other, and then he also attempted to destroy his lover multiple times.
It left Macaque a bit anxious, now that Ming knew where they lived.
"No problem six-ears!" he smiled, turning to leave,
"Oh! Hey uhhh do you guys know where to find  cherries...possibly?" be asked. Macaque pointed behind him,
"Go down the um...mountain. In the valley." he explained,
"Fantastic! Thank you!!" Ming flew off without another thought leaving the two alone.

Before Liu could let a word out, Macaque tightened his hold around her,
"Please. Never do that again, not without me my love." he whispered. He slowly slid his arms from her shoulders to her waist and lower back. Liu kissed his nose,
"I won't, I'm sorry for scaring you." Macaque sighed holding the side of her face.
"It's fine...your home now. My beautiful Liu.." he whispered.

"Macaque...please don't leave me.." she spoke weakly coughing in between her words.

He quickly took his hand off the side of her face,
"Macaque are you okay?" Her voice as smooth as silk and as lively as midday.
"Fine...well now, I panicked so bad.." he groaned placing his head on her shoulder,
"How so?" She asked,
"..."
"..."
"..."
"Macaque.." he stood up straight trying to get away from her 'emotion feeling' hands,
"...trashed the house looking for you." he mumbled, Liu's mouth gaped open for a while...then she just rested her head on his chest. Before she began snickering.
"I couldn't find you!" he tried defending, but she laughed even louder. Macaque sighed hugging her tighter than before, Liu laughed harder hugging him tighter and tighter. Macaque groaned, at her laughter,
"My willow as much as I adore your laugh...not as much when it's aimed towards me." He tried explaining nicely,
"Yeah, but your an idiot-"
"WHAT!?" Macaque yelled making Liu laugh hysterically.

"Ming!?" he called out, the tall moth man turned his mouth stuffed with cherries and arms filled with cherries.
"God you are glutton." he spoke with a disgusted face.
"Hey! Dofh call me tfat!" he yelled mouth still full of cherries. He sollowed hard, spitting out seeds,
"I thought you'd be with your wife?" Ming questioned.
"I...wanted to see you off..." Macaque walked over holding his hand out, "If you hadn't found Liu I might've lost my mind, or she would've had to stay the night or two outside." he explained.

Ming smiled and shook his hand,
"No problem little man-"
"LITTLE MAN!?"
"SORRY SORRY! wow you guys are the same person-"
"What!?"
"Nothing! Your welcome Macaque! Seriously, saving people is kinda my whole thing." Ming shrugged with a smile. Macaque glared at him for a moment,
"Aren't you Wukong's lover? Why would you help me?" Macaque asked,
"Yeah, but that doesn't mean I'm going to let your wife die or be lost for years. I mean I got separated from Wukong for like a week or something and he lost his shit. I almost lost my shit." Ming explained.

Macaque paused for a moment.
"Thank you, genuinely I'll be sure to...remember this next time we cross paths.." he told him, "...with you or Wukong." he finished before waving and walking off. Ming grinned as he watched him walk away,
"What a chill guy." Macaque heard him whisper before shoving more cherries in his mouth.

Macaque sat up quickly with a gasp, he looked around. He was still underneath the willow tree he stumbled upon, with a valley that was nothing but grass and the occasional patches wild flowers here and there. Macaque sighed laying back down against the grass and roots of the tree. He looked through the leaves the moon shinning down on him.

He sighed,
"Thanks again Ming. Maybe you can help me save her again..." he whispered to himself. He looked up at the vines of the willow tree swaying back and forth. His eyes softened, before he rolled over closing his eyes, "Goodnight..." he gently touched the root of the willow tree, "My beautiful Liu..." he whispered, before slowly closing his eyes and falling back to sleep.
