And now that exact angel still watched over us.

»Luc,« I called my son who flinched in surprise and could just avoid the punch of Michael's fist.

»Papa?« he answered, intimidated with a lowered head.

The eyes of all my children watched me. Even those of Raphael, though it was difficult to get his attention when he was reading.

»I heard you had a fight in school,« I said sternly. Behind me I heard a chuckle and knew immediately that it was Cassian who now stood next to me.

»But only to protect Gabe and Az!« Michael immediately defended his younger brother.

»Luc, come here.«

Uncertain, he looked at Michael before he came to me with a hanging head.

Before him, I squatted down. »I hope you showed the boy that you should never insult a Walker,« I said.

Bewildered, he looked up. Grinning, I pinched his cheek. »Keep it up,« I laughed and at once he beamed at me.

»Yes!« Beaming like the sun he twined his arms around me.

»And now, inside the house! Dinner is ready! You probably want to show Papa what you worked on today!« Cassian shouted next to me and clapped his hands.

»Oh yes!« all five yelled in sync and squeezed past us.

»Don't forget to wash your hands!« Cas shouted after them. Sometimes he ran after our children like a mother hen.

Laughing I put my hand on his back between his shoulder blades. He trembled from my touch. The desire to touch him more grew inside of me and over our bond I felt, he felt it too.

Later.

»I hope you cooked nicely,« I said and he looked down on me with a smirk on his lips.

»Not just I. Everyone helped out,« he said proudly and led me to the dinner table. Our children already sat on their chairs and rocked nervously on them.

»Papa, sit, sit, sit!« Gabriel ordered excitedly and I followed his order, chuckling.

»Now, what have you all cooked?« I asked and looked through the round.

»Daddy will get it,« Raphael said with a big grin lighting up his face. And then Cas put a big plate on the table with a self made pizza.

»I and Gabe rolled the dough!« Raphael said proudly and I nodded appreciatively.

»But I put the cheese on it!« Michael nagged immediately.

»And I put the sauce on the pizza with a spoon!« Lucifer yelled in between.

»Daddy and I decorated everything with Salami,« Azrael giggled and looked at Cassian with sparkling eyes who sat down across from me.

»We still don't know if it tastes good,« I said and crossed my arms in a playful manner, but looked serious to the children.

»Papa!« all five screamed together.

Michael grabbed the pizza cutter and cut a part out, against the protest of Cassian, who feared Micha would cut off his fingers.

The oldest demanded a plate from Luc that my second son wouldn't let him wait long for.

With a I-can-do-that-on-my-own-Daddy-look he threw at Cassian, he put the pizza on the plate and Lucifer put it before my nose.

»Try it!« Azrael giggled and when I took the pizza in my hand to bite off a bit, I started chewing skeptically and everyone stared at me with big eyes.

»And?« my children asked at the same time.

»This...« I began to make it more exciting, »is the best pizza I have ever eaten!« I announced and my little ones cheered.

»See? I told you Papa would love it,« Cassian said and grinned at me.

And like this we all ate.

I told from my work – well at least as much as I was allowed to – and my children told me from their day in school.

It was beautiful and this was what I always wanted. My own family.

This was my story and if I could come to the same end every time, I would repeat the same pain and suffering only to be here again.

Like Vincent Churchill once said 'If you go through hell, just go further'.

Because, if you walked through hell, only happiness and joy could await you afterwards.

Hope would never die because in every darkness would be a light that gave the spark to light a fire.

And with my family, I found my spark. Let the light spark up and banish the darkness from my life.
