»Wait...« he mumbled and removed his shoes before he pulled me back a bit and put our puppies closer to me before he climbed into the bed himself and put his arms around me. I already felt better though I was still feeling cold.

»What do I call them?« he asked and stroked our daughter.

»She is our youngest and her name is Azrael and she is an Omega...« I said.

My hand trembled when I laid it on the sleeping black wolf. »Gabriel, the second youngest and an Omega too.«

Smiling Cassian nodded and pointed at the black-brown coloured puppy. »And he?«

»Raphael... The third... I believe he is from the middle ranks... I can't really recognize it.«

Again, Cas nodded and pointed to the two-coloured puppy. »Lucifer, the second.«

Bewildered Cassian eyebrows rose. »Lucifer?«

Smirking, I nodded. »A... unusual name, but... Luc is our light. Azrael, the angel, too is bonded with death.«

Quietly he laughed. The obvious amusement was written all over his face. Something that seemed to have been long lost.

»And the oldest? Our little Alpha?«

Slightly my heart squeezed what made my breath stop and I squinted my eyes shut.

»Kyran?«

Worried, Cassian touched my cheek with his hand. Deeply I took a breath and pushed back the pain.

Just ignore it, Kyran, that is only the curse, I made myself believe.

»Michael,« I started again. His eyes were focused on me with a frown for a moment before he looked at our children again.

»How could you get away? They didn't do anything to you, right?« he asked tensely and looked me in the eyes.

»I... I don't know how I got away.«

Confused, he twisted his nose and furrowed his eyebrows.

»But shouldn't you know how you got you to safety?«

»It... It was shortly after the birth... Argon cut open my stomach so they wouldn't choke to death... After that Argon stitched up my stomach, they disappeared like they always did... I heard a... meow... and saw a reddish tail disappear behind the wall and...«

I looked down on my little ones.

»I got up to protect them... and felt that the chain wasn't around my neck anymore. I looked at the wall and at the same moment... the door to my cell squeaked... I looked back and saw that it was open and in the door was a basket in which I carried our children... I didn't think long about it and put our children inside and fled from that basement...«

A cough shook my body before I nuzzled myself closer to Cas. Why was it getting colder?

»I walked without knowing where to and where I even was... I looked for a safe spot inside a burrow and stepped into a bear trap...«

My wrist was thickly bandaged and except for the clothes the only light color on my body.

»I heard a river and wanted to drink something, but I recognized it and followed the flow of the water and then stepped over our border... You know the rest... They did nothing really to me. Vanadis something had her fun with my mind but they didn't torture me physically. Argon ordered it like that because he wanted to be sure that nothing happened to the children. I tried to starve myself to death but they stopped me by feeding me artificial... Nothing worked... I would have rather died in that cell than give them our children.«
