Day 2 prior to the business day

*Ringing*

*Ringing*

*Zane yawns*

Zane: "Man!!, who's calling?"

I sluggishly reach for my phone and check who is calling me. Crap, it's my mom. Oh ye, it's Wednesday. I can't believe I forgot. 

*Answers the call*

Zane: "Good morning ma"

Mum: "Morning, are you still asleep?"

Zane: "No no, am just tired"

Mum: " Why are you so tired?"

Zane: "Just went out with some friends yesterday, stayed out late last night"

Mum: " What, you left Gabe all by himself at home!"

Zane: "He's thirteen, he's not a kid any more mum. He can handle himself"

Mum: " It doesn't matter, if anything happens, he will need you there, he might not know it now but it's the truth".

Zane: "I know, don't worry it was only for yesterday"

Mum: ".....anyways let me speak to my love"

Zane: "Hold, let me head downstairs".

Mum: "You're still in bed!"

Zane: "Am getting off okay, give me a second, am heading downstairs now"

*yawns, then stretches*

I get off my bed, still in my boxers, and I head downstairs.

Gabe: "Morning!"

Zane: "I'm never going to get over the fact that you're always energetic in the mornings. Mom wants to talk to you".

I put the phone on speaker.

Gabe: "Good morning mum!"

Mum: "Morning my love! How is everything going?"

Gabe: "It's going great, am about to head out for school"

Mum: "Alright, just be careful"

Zane: "It's 7:15 a.m. Gabe, I know the school opens at 9 a.m. and it's not that far away. Explain yourself"

Gabe: "Am playing basketball with some of my friends at Wiston court."

Zane: *sighs*

Zane: "Be careful, and stay within the boundaries alright?"

Gabe: "Yeah I know. Alright, I am heading out. Bye ma"

Mum: "Okay, I will call you later"

Gabe: "Alright ma"

Gabe goes through the kitchen cabinets and takes out a pack of biscuits.

Zane: "Broo those are Dreys you know. Where's the respect?"

Gabe: "He will understand, plus we are brothers in blood"

Zane: "Watch him beat both of our asses"

Gabe: *laughs*," I will plead like I always do. Aight am out"

Zane: "Ye".

Gabe heads to the front door, and after a few seconds, I hear the front door shut.

Mum: "Drey really disciplines you both", *she laughs*

Zane: " I don't want to talk about it."

Mum: *she laughs harder*, " I can't have it any other way. He has been a blessing in our lives, and I trust him enough to let him handle disciplining you".
