I opened the door to see a corporately dressed man. I suspected him to be the owner.

"You must be Miss Lee" he said with a voice that showed he was quite familiar with English.

"Yes" I said bowing slightly. I wondered why he was here; I had already gotten the keys. He gave me a blue-covered book with Korean inscriptions, I pretended to look through it, but within me, I knew I couldn't read a damn thing. I muttered a slight 'thank you' and bowed again, he nodded and left.

I went back to my favorite spot since I had moved in, the couch. I took my phone and tried to translate the inscriptions, after 'bout 6 tries, I finally got it, it was a rulebook, I scoffed, a rule book for an apartment? Korea was really something. I stayed in my room the entire day; I had gotten some snacks from home...

The next day, I wanted to have breakfast, the problem was, I wasn't familiar with Korean food and I had no idea where the restaurants were, so I figured I would just walk around till I found one, most buildings like this back at home had built in restaurants and cafés, I wondered if I would find it, so I freshened up and took the elevator to the first floor. People just walked in and out, there was something that just reminded me of a zombie apocalypse, everyone just walking, on and on...

I looked around and there was still nothing, so I went up to the first floor, where my apartment was, there was nothing there too, the only thing I found open was the studio, there was someone in it, so it actually was a public one, I smiled, no one knew me here, so I could just come here and let my feelings out.

I walked into the studio, it was literally magnificent, if put in simple words, someone was in the recording booth, so I walked over, he stared at me and stopped.

"Can I help you?" He said, he sounded polite, well... polite with a tinge of can't-you-see-I'm-busy kind of tone.

I was stunned, he could speak English!

"I was looking for the restaurant" I said calmly,

"Restaurant?" He said with a scoff, like he almost didn't believe me,

"Yes"

"There is no restaurant here, it's a studio, besides, there's a restaurant in the building, why are you here?"

"I couldn't find it" I was wondering why he was giving me this much interrogation, it was a public studio after all.

"The third floor, towards the left... weren't you given a handbook?"

I muttered a thank you and left.

I got to the restaurant and it turned out Korean food wasn't so bad; I even took some to go. I got back to my apartment, but it turned out I wasn't hungry, but I needed to go out, sitting in a confined space was driving me crazy.

so I went back to the elevator, and out of the building, now I wished the crazy girl was here, at least someone would have shown me around. I should have asked for her number, I scolded myself, she was crazy but at least she knew her way around, I stood outside, waiting for whatever could come my way, maybe a cab.

After about 10 minutes I heard a voice from behind.

"Are you lost?"

I turned to see someone, he was wearing a dark nose mask and shades, he looked quite mysterious, I liked it. But that when it dawned on me, another person who could speak English!

I suddenly got excited. "You can speak English?" My joy literally knew no bounds, I was even surprised I could get so happy at the sight of a total stranger.

"Yes... Are you lost?" He asked again with a raised brow, it was like he found me strange.

"No... I mean yes, I mean... is there somewhere people go for fun around here?" I asked, it was like my mouth and my brain were at totally different heights, I couldn't control the words anymore.

"You are a tourist?"

"No... Yes... Sort of" I wished I could shut my mouth but... well I couldn't. I could hear him chuckle, he was amused. It was then I realized I had to get groceries. "Is there a grocery store around?"

"You want to visit a grocery store for fun? That's really... unusual"

I tried to sound serious, maybe that would have made up for the time I embarrassed myself. "No, I just want to find the supermarket... or something, one that holds American food"

"There is one down the block. I can take you there if you want"

I glared at him, that was new. what about the stranger-danger policy? he didn't look like a bad guy though, But I didn't really have a choice, so I nodded. "Thank you" and bowed slightly, I expected him to do the same, but he didn't.

"Shall we?" He said dramatically as he walked towards a parked Genesis GV80 SUV.

I blinked twice, that was a really expensive car, but I wouldn't get in, what if I got kidnapped, or worse, robbed?

So, I yelled a slight, "Hold on," and gently walked up to him. "Why don't we walk there? It's around the block, as you said"

He sighed and looked around, that actually got me tensed. Why was he looking around? he nodded, "Let's go"

I swallowed and followed him, we got to the store and he asked if he could leave, all eyes had suddenly turned to us, some girls even started taking pictures of us.

"Leave?" I replied, dumbfounded, "How can you leave? and why are they staring at us like that?"

He sighed, "Just get what you want and we can leave, hurry!"

I was surprised at his impatience, I wondered who I had ran into. I got all the things I needed and even the sales person kept staring at us as we walked out of the store.

"What was that all about?" I asked as we got to the front of the building. "Why were they staring at us like us like we're aliens? do you have a criminal record, are you a bully? Answer me, what was that about?"

He looked at me, with partial surprise. "You don't know me?" And then he took off his mask. I couldn't believe it, I was dumbfounded, he was... handsome.
