As per usual a new week meant a new set of problems for the glee club and this week was no different.

"New Directions, I'd like to introduce you to our new show choir consultant, Jesse St. James." Mr. Schue announced which was met with silence, until Rachel started to clap, honestly to Maddison, Rachel being excited was no surprise she knew even with the pair having a history that Jesse would 100% back Rachel so no one would even get a chance to perform at nationals. That or the pair were together again.

"I don't trust this guy. How do we know he's not gonna trick us into doing something stupid so his alma mater wins." Finn said, clearly bothered by the boy's presence

"I don't think I need to do much to get you to do something stupid Finn." Jesse fired back but before he could respond Mr. Schue decided to step in.

"Guys, Jesse is just a consultant. I still make all the calls. Now I have all the confidence in the world in you guys. I just think we could use all the help we can get, because...this is it." Mr. Schue said pointing to the whiteboard with the word 'Nationals' written on.

"We've been working so hard for two years for this moment, and that moment is finally here. Now I was talking with Jesse, and he agreed that we should continue with our successful trend of doing original songs for the competition. I was thinking of doing one group number and one duet."

"Rachel and I should sing a duet. We killed it last year at regionals with 'Faithfully'. "

"Yeah, it killed us. We lost." Quinn commented from beside her boyfriend

"May I?" Jesse asked before speaking

"Uh, yeah."

"I agree that Rachel should sing lead, but Finn, I think it's best if you sit this one out. Fact is, most of the other guys here are better singers and Mike Chang, who can't even sing can at least dance. You kind of sing and dance like a zombie who has to poop."

Maddison had to agree with Jesse on the whole dancing thing, the teen couldn't dance to save his life, just take what happened to Rachel a few weeks back as proof and it seemed she wasn't the only one that agreed with that statement. Despite Puck and Kurt being seated at the back Maddison could see they were trying to cover up their laughter

"You see what I'm talking about? This guy's a jerk!"

"Jesse, maybe you could be a little gentler with your advice." Mr. Schue commented

"Gentle?"

"Yeah."

"I'm sorry, I didn't realise we were training for the 'Good Try' ribbon at nationals. I thought we were in it to win the whole damn thing, and there's only one way we can do that."

"Poison darts?" Brittany said, and it was clear her response was just ignored as Jesse continued to speak

"The Vocal Adrenaline strategy is simple, identify your best performer and build the entire performance around them."

"So, what does everyone else do?" Mercedes asked, before Puck asked his question

"And who's our star performer?" That question was left hanging for a but, while Mr. Schue and Jesse shared a look

"We're gonna have auditions to find out. I'm gonna post a sign-upsheet later this afternoon." At this a few of the teens became excited at the idea of having a solo at nationals, while others like Finn were clearly not as excited about the idea

"Mr. Schue, don't you think this is kind of not our style?" Finn asked, but Sam responded rather than the spanish teacher

"Normally, I'd agree with you Finn, but this is the big time. I think we should listen to Jesse."
