Walking back from business class, the rubber souls of my shoes beat on the pavement. My hands gripping the straps of the backpack that pull on my shoulders, keyboard clicking on my phone as I text my roommate.

"I should be home soon, I'll start dinner so it'll me ready when you get home." I send the message, tucking my phone into my jeans pocket and pushing the buildings glass door open.

Taking my keys our from my other pocket, twisting it in the metal lockbox, and pulling out the skinny white envelopes. Shuffling through them, lightly scanning the names and addresses but finding nothing worth my time.

My heart skips a beat right when the building door flings open, my feet peddling back and my hand clutching my heart. I curse under my breath, shaking my head. Squatting down to pick up the envelopes I had dropped.

"Here, let me help." a deep voice speaks behind me, motion happening around me but I focus on the white mail littering the floor. My nails scrapping the dirty dorm buildings floor.

Another pair of hands pick up the last envelope from the floor, guiding it towards me. Tilting my head up I'm met with the most gorgeous chocolate eyes. So deep I could get lost in the sweetness, the white grin adds butterflies into my stomach making me queasy.

I take the note from his hand, adding it to the pile of the others. We both stand up in unison, keeping each others eyes focused on each other.

His hand goes the the back of his neck, rubbing his skin anxiously. "Hey, you're in my ethics class, right?" he asks me.

"I think so. Your name is Chad, right?" I say, he looks away from my eyes, I take the chance to look at more of him. He's tall, and fit with big muscular arms, the grey sweatshirt he wears hides his body but shows the good parts of him.

"Yeah it is. I'm sorry I don't know your name."

"It's (Y/N)!" I reply. I start walking towards the stairs, he follows me, fidgeting with his keys in his hand. His index finger in a key ring, twisting it around.

My shoes squeak when I take the first step, going quick up but not quick enough that I'll run out of breath by the time I get to my floor.

We have a bit of conversation on our way up, just small talk that strangers have. I reach the floor that's mine and point to the door, "This is my floor." I speak up.

"No way me too." me says, opening the door and holding it to let me walk through. Another small group of college kids walk past us to the stairs behind.

Finally reaching the end of the hall where my dorm room is, twisting my keys and unlocking the door. I hear the same sounds behind me, looking back to see Chad unlocking the door across the hall from me.

"Guess we're neighbours." he lets a little giggle out, turning open the door and stepping inside. "Guess I'll see you soon. I hope sooner than you think."

He closes the door behind him, quickly so I can't say another word back. The butterflies in my stomach double, making me feel nauseous.

That night, brushing my wet hair and applying moisturizer to my skin before bed. The only thing I can think of is him. His bright smile, his deep and dark eyes that I could just fall into, like an abyss that I just wish I could get lost in.

My heart thumps every time his face pops in my mind. I don't know how I haven't noticed him until today, he lives across from me this whole time, and have a class together. Damn.

I need to see him again.
