After school that day, Komaeda walked up to Hinata as the brunet left the building.

"Hinata-senpai,"

"Yeah?"

"Can we uhm... go behind the school? To talk about earlier. I don't want people to hear us,"

"Uh, yeah. Let's go,"

They went behind the school and stared at each other for a while.

'Okay, here goes...' Hinata thought.

They both bowed down at the same time.

"Please don't tell anyone!" Komaeda exclaimed.

"Sorry," Hinata said.

The both stood up straight again.

"I won't tell anyone. I wouldn't gain anything from making fun of you,"

"You wouldn't gain anything?"

"Well, yeah. Hurting you doesn't help me out," Hinata explained.

Komaeda nodded. "I see. Why did you apologize?"

"Because I don't feel the same,"

"No no, it's fine! Don't apologize!" Komaeda waved his hands around. "Just reject me, alright? And then we can pretend this never happened,"

"No,"

The pale boy tilted his head. "No?"

"I don't know you very well. So I want to get to know you and then give you an answer after I've thought this through. And we don't need to pretend this didn't happen. You don't have to act like you never had those feelings," Hinata said.

"Uhm... you really don't need to do that for me. I'm fine with being rejected. I expected it,"

"No. I don't want to reject you without knowing you,"

"Well... alright. What are you doing for the festival?"

"I'll help build the props for the play,"

"Ah, I see. Me too. Then I'll see you there tomorrow. Bye now!" Komaeda left.

When he got home, he sighed. This was embarrassing.

"Hey, Nagito. How was school?" His mother called out from the kitchen.

"It was alright." He took off his shoes and jacket. "It smells really good! What are you making?"

"Just curry, nothing special,"

Komaeda walked into the kitchen and set up the table. "Is dad home?"

"Yes, he should come here soon. I already told him lunch is ready,"

After a few minutes, they all sat down to eat.

"Nagito, you look a bit pale," his father pointed out.

"Are you not feeling well?" His mother asked, getting worried.

"No, I'm fine,"

"If you're sick, you need to tell us!"

"I know, I'm fine," He said. "You don't have to be so worried all the time,"

"We just don't want you getting seriously ill," his father told him. "If you feel sick, we'll take you to the hospital,"

"What? No. I'm okay. School was just a bit exhausting," it was true. His parents were very overprotective. Sometimes he would be taken to the hospital just because he had a cough.

The next day, the team who built the props all got together in an empty classroom. It consisted of Maizono, Hinata, Naegi and Komaeda.

"Komaeda-kun, what's that supposed to be?" Naegi asked him, pointing at a sketch he was drawing to make a cardboard cutout.

"A horse for the carriage," He stated. "Why? Does it not look good?"

"It, ah... looks kind of like a turtle." He picked up one of the trees they had painted. "I'm sure you'll manage to fix it. Maizono-san, can you help me carry this?"

"For sure!"

Both of them left. Hinata walked over to Komaeda and looked at his drawing. He chuckled.

"Hey, be quiet!" Komaeda hissed. "If you're such a good artist, show me how to do it properly,"

"Alright." He sat down next to him and took the pencil out of Komaeda's hand. The brunet began to draw. He was much better at this than Komaeda.

"There. Is that good?" He asked.

Komaeda sighed. "It's much better than mine... I'm a failure..." He grabbed a paintbrush and began to paint.

"You're not a failure. You're just not good at drawing horses." He pat his back.

A few hours later, they were done and all the students got together.

"We've got bad news," Nanami, the class representative of Hinata's class announced. "Sonia-san and Tanaka-kun are sick, so we've got no one to play Cinderella and the prince. The only ones who aren't busy at the time of the play are the prop team,"

"Maizono-san, can you p-play Cinderella?" Tsumiki asked.

"Ah... I get nervous quickly,"

The all stared at her.

"You'll do just fine!" Nanami promised. "I believe in you,"

"I-I really don't want to,"

"Aw, come on!"

"Please!"

"Maizono-san, we need your help-"

"I'll do it!"

Everyone stared at Komaeda now.

"You?" Nanami asked.

"Yes. If Maizono-san is uncomfortable, I'll play Cinderella," He said.

"I mean... I guess that's fine. Now we need a prince. Hinata-kun? What about you?"

Komaeda's eyes widened. Not Hinata! Naegi would have been fine since he didn't think Komaeda had a crush on him, but Hinata? Seriously?? He really had horrible luck.

"Sure,"

And that's how it happened. Komaeda stood on the stage, wearing a long blue dress and a blonde wig. Hinata wore a prince costume.

"May I have this dance?" He asked Komaeda, holding out his hand.

"Of course." They danced for a few seconds, and then the bell rang.

"Oh no! It's already midnight!" Komaeda exclaimed. He turned around to run away, but he tripped.

Hinata ran towards him and caught him in time. Komaeda looked up at him, slowly turning pink in the face.

"Are you okay?" Hinata asked.

Komaeda quickly kicked off the shoe and hurried to get off the stage. He was so embarassed. Stupid play...
