18~ slippery slopes

"—I love you, Andrea Alfonso."

I was frozen. It's the first time he actually said it. He usually just tells me he likes me ganun. But he never said it outright. It made it all seem real. Julien Araneta loves me. My heart just melted. But what do I say??

"I–" I began. Pero sa totoo lang di ko alam sasabihin ko. I'm not yet ready to say it back. Luckily the twins interrupted us.

"I'll save you, Ate Andy!" Adie cried as he began attacking Julien with a hotdog pillow.

"Uuugghhh." Julien pretended to groan in pain as he let me go.

"You're free, princess! The prince has defeated the ugly dragon!" Rosie exclaimed as she sat on my lap and put a pink fuzzy crown on me. Sobrang cute please. Bakit ba wala akong younger siblings or cousins. Hay.

"Hey, why am I the dragon? And why am I ugly, Rose??" Julien complained beside me. Adie sat on his belly looking triumphant. Rosie just laughed at her older brother.

"I want to be the prince." He also added.

"You can't be the prince, kuya. Adie was first. And I'm the beautiful fairy of the land who helps save the day." She mused, flicking her pink sparkly wand over Julien's face. He made an annoyed face. Aww, Julien cutiepie Araneta.

"Yeah, lagi nalang akong nauunahan." He whined as he looked at me. I frowned at his nonsense.

"Ewan ko sayo." I said, pinching his cheek, which he seemed to hate and like at the same time.

After our kulitan with the kiddos, Manang told us to have breakfast. We washed up muna kaya nagmuni muni ako sa guest room. Kaya naisip ko na naman si Stephen. Shocks, naalala ko rin yung panaginip ko. Bakit siya yung nandun?

Hi, Stephen. Sorry to cancel today, may urgent matters that came up. Can we move our plans tomorrow?

Jusmiyo, nakaabang ata siya sa phone niya kasi nag ayos lang ako ng gamit at nagreply na agad siya after a minute.

Hindi na ako nagreply pero tinext ko rin si Mikee and Cassidy. Medyo nabusy kahapon kaya hindi ko sila nareplyan. Naku, isusumpa na nila ako lalo na si Mikes.

And off I went with my day, with a smile on my face. I'm feeling lucky today for having loving friends. At syempre dahil weekend na rin. Kahit unplanned yung mga ganaps, I'm still thankful. And happy.

"So, where do you wanna go?" Julien asked from the passenger seat. Ako naman eto katabi yung twins habang nasa likuran namin mga yaya nila. We just had lunch at the house and we're now off to the mall.
