OH MY GOD I FINALLY FINISHED THIS CHAPTER.

So the song for this chapter is very meaningful. "Stay With Me" by Sam Smith. I used the cover by Aanysa. I wanted to use her version because I love it, and I also wanted a female voice to match Rose's thoughts. Rose cares for Diego, but isn't sure if it is truly love. But she still needs him. So, "Stay With Me" is absolutely perfect. :)

Enjoy! :D

Chapter Eighteen

It had been three months since that day.

I had barely spoken to Klaus since then, and I could tell that it was driving him insane. He had told me many times that I was one of the few people he would actually miss having around.

I hadn't had any luck on finding where Marcel put Elijah. I also hadn't gone to see Davina. Apparently, she was now very reclusive ever since the thing with the witches had started up again. I think that she was scared. So I let her have her peace. As for the whole Elijah thing, Marcel told me that he was safe. I had given him the silent treatment for a week until he told me that he was eventually going to take the dagger out.

I watched the humans and vampires dance wildly, my fingers drumming against the railing as they mimicked the beat.

I heard him come up behind me, then felt his arms snake around my waist as he laid his head on my shoulder.

"You should be dancing," he chuckled softly in my ear.

I smiled, and moved out of his arms. "Alright, I'll go see if Thierry needs a partner."

He grabbed my wrist, pulling me back to him and smirking down at me. "I meant, you should be dancing with me."

I grinned at him. "Well, come on then."

I took Diego's hand, and led him down the stairs. We were halfway down the steps when I saw Marcel and Klaus exit the study. I felt Diego tense up as he held my hand a little tighter.

He was very hostile around Klaus, but really, who could blame him?

I moved past Marcel and Klaus, ignoring the saddened and angered look I got from the rejected little Mikaelson.

It had looked like we made it by, but with Klaus, nothing was ever as it seemed. I quickly remembered that when Diego's hand was ripped from mine.

"Watch it," I heard Diego growl out.

I turned to see what had happened. Klaus had purposely slammed his shoulder into Diego's, causing Diego to be knocked back a little.

Klaus looked to me, smirking. "You should pick your toys a little more carefully, love. This one appears to be defective."

I saw Diego tense up again, and I could tell that he was about to lunge at Klaus. I stopped him, putting a hand on his shoulder. I felt him loosen up a bit when I leaned forwards to whisper in his ear, "You can either fight Klaus and surely lose and get bitten, or you can come with me. It's your choice, now make the right one."

He narrowed his eyes at Klaus, then relaxed a little and turned to follow me.

We danced for what seemed like days, but was really simply hours. Thierry, Diego, and I all drank the night away, right up until the clock struck midnight. The frenzy began, and after I fed on a blonde-haired girl with Diego, I felt Klaus' eyes on me.
