Groom to be - "Is there anything more you need to know about me or my family?"

Bride to be - "Hmmph. I think I know enough for now."

Groom to be - "So do you want to take this proposal forward? My parents want to know."

The bill arrives.

Bride to be - "I don't know yet." Passes the bill. "Here."

Groom to be - "We have been having lunch for the last six months, and you never paid once. Want to give it a try?"

Bride to be - "Aren't you a gentleman?"

Pays off bill

One week later

Parents of Groom to be - "Should we fix the date, and conduct the ceremony?"

Parents of Bride to be- "Our daughter doesn't like your son. Sorry!"

Parents of Groom to be - "She has been hanging out with him for nearly half a year."

Parents of Bride to be - "She needed to decide. Her feelings are important. It's her life after all, and she's just living it."

Parents of Groom to be - "Playing with others and giving them false hope is not 'living life'."

No response.

Proposal denied.
