When all else fails

Chapter15

Carter POV
If I could go after her I would but I didn't knowing that the hospital wouldn't let me go. I looked at Tasha only to see amusement and a smirk on her face. If my son wasn't in there I would've lost my cool and began yelling and I might've backhanded her. But instead I simply said "Why did you do that?" I was as calm as I could possibly be.
"What did I do you are my baby and he's your son. We are a family and you are going to let this home wrecker come in and ruin that." I looked at her as if she had lost her mind I'd made it clear that I didn't want to be with her. "I'm not your baby nor do I want to be with you. I don't want to be with you because you're a liar I know you aren't pregnant." I looked over and my son was asleep so I continued. " And I no longer believe he is mine before I leave this hospital we will know."
"What are you talking about Carter I am pregnant."
"No you are not I have connections and after your last doctors appointment I went to find out for myself. No wonder you never invited me to your appointments because your ass was lying. Now get the fvck out my room." "Why are you-"
"Didn't I say get out." With that being said she left and I dialed Nova phone at least 3 times but she ain't answer. I knew I wasn't supposed to leave but I had to get out of there. I begged the nurse for my release papers. She slipped me those a long with her number. A number that I will definitely not be using. I got dressed and ran to my car. I had a tracker on Nova's car in case someone took her to get me to surrender my title. I followed it to this house I'd never seen. I got out and ran to the door. I rung the door bell and seconds later I saw a man come to the door. I remembered him from the wedding as her dad. " Hi who are you? He said with a Bill Cosby smile.
"Umh I'm Carter is-"
"She is here but I don't know if she would like to see you but I believe you guys should talk because it seems that I can't cheer her up. NOVA come to the door!" After that I heard shuffling and I saw Nova enter. I could automatically tell she'd been crying, which broke my heart.
"Hey Nova" I said not knowing what to say.
"How did you find me Carter?"
"And on that note I will excuse myself nice meeting you son."
"Nice meeting you too." And with that he exited. " Nova can I speak with you outside?"
" Why can't you speak to Tasha outside 'baby'? Why didn't you tell me?? Were you cheating in me the whole time the bitch is walking in like it's her house and y'all are together so what's up tell me the truth are you fvcking with her?"
"Can you come outside I don't think we need to discuss and do this in your parents house." We walked outside and got in my car.
"Now I will explain. The last time I talked to Tasha was the night you found out Amari was cheating. I told you I was coming to get my stuff because I bought this house and asked her to move in with me so I could be closer to my son. When you moved in with me. I realized I had something good. I knew I didn't want to be with Tasha but I thought I could make it work for my son. She had even convinced me to quit the game. I will quit the game for you Nova. I don't want to hurt you, and I don't want you to fall victim to the game because of me I'm sorry. And I haven't been cheating on you since we've been together, because you are so different I can't find someone who makes me feel half as special as you do. You are my heart and soul." I wiped the tears from Nova's eyes. And wrapped my arms around her and she cuddled into my chest. We fell asleep in the car. With our fingers intertwined. I woke up at 2 am and realized we were still at her parents house. I gently pushed her off of me and drove us home. When we got there I carried her inside. I stripped her out of her clothes and put one of my t-shirts on her. I started to take off my clothes when I heard Nova say " you know I could've changed my clothes because I've been awake since you moved me off of you at my parents house." She came up behind me and started kissing and biting on my neck. It felt so good but I was tired. But shoot I stopped thinking with my head when her hand went into my boxers I was about to take her down. I kissed her gently and then took her in the bathroom and turned on the shower. I quickly stripped off her clothes and mine. Our lips never separated. I picked her up and got in the shower with little Rico standing at full attention. "Daddy it looks like someone is ready." she said giggling. After that it was a wrap. After we were done I called my friend T and told him who shot me. He told me I didn't have to worry about it, because he had already taken care of it. He told me he caught them stealing. So he did what he had to do. I told him to call a meeting at 1. I was going to quit and go back to school so I could get a real job and give Nova the husband she deserves, because I plan on marrying this girl.

On my way to the trap I prayed. I knew it was hard to get out of the game.
I walked in and every one was waiting for me in the conference room.
"What's up boss? Why'd you call us here?"
"Don't rush me. I called you guys here to tell you that I'm done I'm stepping down and making T the boss."
"Fr? You serious man we gone miss you." T said.
" Yeah tf stop questioning me. My decision is final." With that being said I left. I decided to surprise Nova at work, because I had nothing else to do. I pulled up and ran in. I told Jasmine at the reception desk not to tell Nova I was there.
