When all else fails

Chapter 10

Carter POV
I had to leave and head to the trap and pass out paychecks. So I left Nova a note and headed out. When I got to trap I heard the sound of money machines and Chief Keef. I ran to my office and collected the money. I had to go to the mall and get my girl a gift tomorrow was Nova's birthday she was gone be 24. My baby was getting old. Soon she would be old and wrinkly and I would still love every inch of her with all my heart. I left the trap and called her friend Nia. She was helping me plan Nova's surprise party.
"Hey Carter what's up?"
"Nothing I was trying to see about the guest who were coming."
"Well the guest list includes 130 people and that includes your friends you invited."
"That's cool but can you do me a favor?"
" What's that?"
"I need you to bring Nova to the club and find an excuse to get her there."
"I had already planned on it."
"Okay cool." I hung up and headed to the mall. I walked into Victoria secret and got her a few things from there. Then I headed to dilliards and got her a few handbags and dresses. After heading to the car twice to load the stuff up I decided it was time to go. I'd checked on everything even her hair appointment to make sure everything was perfect for my baby.
I walked in the house and saw Nova on the couch with her nose in her phone. I knew she'd be there that's why I left the gifts in the car.
"Hey baby what you doing."
"What does it look like I'm doing" she said slightly annoyed.
"What tf did I do" he said smacking his lips. With that this is bull sh*t look on his face. Nova couldn't help but laugh.
"Yo why you laughing?" He asked
"I'm laughing because I'm just kidding you're so cute when you're mad."
"That's not funny, and have you ate?"
"Of course. I don't need my daddy to buy me food I'm grown."
"Oh I'm your daddy huh?"
"Nah you're dirty you just turned an innocent statement into something bad."
"That's why you like me though."
"You're too cocky you just know you the sh*t conceited ass."
" I do and you know it too."
"Boy shut up I can't hear my movie." He snatched the remote and turned the tv off and ran upstairs. I got up and ran after him. He hid in one of the closets and popped up out of no where. He scared the piss out of me.
"You play too much now give me the remote before I slap the piss out of you." I handed her the remote and then tackled her making her fall back on the bed. I hovered over her and kissed her passionately. I knew she wasn't ready for that. I wanted to wait till tomorrow.
"I'm on my period." She lied because my hand was trying to slip her panties off.
"I thought after menopause you don't get periods anymore." I laughed but she did not find it funny at all.
"Shut up that's why I'm not on my cycle, and you're still not getting nun. Now that's funny." She said clutching her stomach she laughed so hard she was out of breath.
" I knew you couldn't have a cycle after menopause." I said laughing "now that deserves a slap on the knee."
"I hate you." She said while leaving.
"I'm just playing with you damn bae." I walked over to her and kissed her. We went downstairs and sat on the couch. I laid my head in her lap while we watched love and hip hop Atlanta. She sat there playing in my curly hair. She was in a trance just staring at your boy. Then I laughed and she snapped out of it. I was laughing talking about special sleazy sauce. She couldn't help but laugh Stevie J was a mess. When the show was over she went and put on her bathing suit and so did I. We raced downstairs and jumped in the pool. We got out and ordered Chinese food. Then I got in the shower. I came downstairs and heard the guest room shower on. I went and picked up our food and came back. We ate and I couldn't wait for her birthday so I could show her how much she meant to me.
