When all else fails

Chapter 9

Nova POV
I've been staying with Carter and I enjoyed his company. He obviously had a good job to pay for this expensive ass house. He would go to work for a couple of hours and come home.
Today I got up and made breakfast. I didn't want to wake Carter but I wanted to hear his voice before I went to work. I ran upstairs and burst through the door. I jumped on his back and whispered "Carti wake up."
"I'm up and why you have to jump on me like that?" he said groggily.
"Because I can." I said while rolling my eyes.
"What I tell you about rolling your eyes?"
"You said next time I rolled my eyes you were going to give me something to roll my eyes about." I said biting my lip because I was a little turned on. His voice was so sexy. I guess he caught on because he licked his lips and kissed me. I got out of the bed and started walking out of the room. When I was stopped by Carter standing in front of me. He lifted me in the air and spun me around. I told him to stop because I was afraid of heights. He finally put me down while he was laughing.
"I hate you. That's not funny."
" It really was, and um when you get off can we go out. Like on a date." He said looking nervous. I don't know why he was nervous. I would've said yes a thousand times. The more time I spent with him the more I was attracted to him. Hell we slept in the same bed. What was there to be nervous about?
" Maybe" I said trying to sound like I'd be busy.
" That's how it is ma?" He asked joking.
"Okay so are you going to pick me up from work or you want me to come home and change."
" You can come home and change and get even more perfect for our date." he said smiling hard.
"Why you smiling?" I asked
"Because you're beautiful and I can't believe I got a woman like you to come home to." He said being completely honest. I was speechless. He grabbed me by my waist and said " I love you."
"I love you too Carti. Now I have to go you're going to make me late for my first client." She said pushing him off of her playfully. She turned around to walk off but not before he could smack her ass.

Work seemed to fly by fast because all I could think about was my date with Carti. I got out of my desk and locked up my office. When I got in the car I plugged in my aux cord and played juice by lil Donald. I sung along.

I was finally home I ran inside and took a shower. I got out and put on a black and white asymmetrical dress with a deep v-neck that hugged all my curves. I put on my silver Steve Madden shoes with one strap across the toe. I curled my hair and added red lipstick by the time I was finished I saw Carti walk in. He had a black and white button up from common cents. A pair of black trues and Infared 11's. He was looking fine. He walked over to me and said "You must be trying to cuff a n*gga dressed like that." He laughed.
"Boy ain't nobody trying to cuff you I'm trying to get me a new man." They both laughed. He knew I wasn't checking for anybody but him. He grabbed my hand and we headed out. When we got in the car my song came on. Rain down by kirko bangz ft. August Alsina.
" You say fvck me like you love me. But how does it feel when I say lovely. Sign says caution slippery when wet. Say you want it all so that's what you gone get. Turn up bed room burn up rain down till you make the room fill up ooh ooh ooh keep rocking and drip dropping we ain't stopping till you get through give me all your precipitation I lay it down till your leg is breaking but I won't be evacuating and I think it's ironic when she say her name Katrina I say it from the Nola I survived I hope you know I did it all came up and I came down from that g sh*t but when it comes to that g-spot it's no secret that I can make ya rain down girl." I sang that song and when it was finally over I looked up to see Carter staring at me licking his lips. I was kind of embarrassed, but I got over it when his hand went on my thigh. Then I became nervous we hadn't taken anything to the next level. But tonight might be the night which scared me. I didn't want it to not be special and I definitely did not want him to be disappointed. When we pulled up I soon realized where we were and I couldn't believe it.
"Carti you're taking me to see Kevin Gates. I can't believe it. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I yelled I couldn't believe hewould do this for me I loved Kevin gates.
"Calm yo happy ass down. I'm starting to think you gone leave me for Kevin Gates."
"After this I will never leave you. no one has ever made me so happy." I jumped into his arms and kissed all over his face.
" Come on ma before we late." Carter had this cool and calm bad boy demeanor that attracted me to him.

It was 2 in the morning when we got home I was so tired. Carti carried me upstairs and I undressed myself hopping in bed in only my undergarments. I felt the bed dip and I knew it was Carter next to me. I rolled on top of him and laid my head on his chest. He grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers together. He kissed my forehead and laid his other hand on my back. Which sent a chill down my spine. "Get some rest ma, goodnight. I love you." I started to say goodnight but this n*gga was sleep. I couldn't help but laugh and then fall asleep.
