(Asriel POV)

I took my sit in the front row like normal when the teacher came in with a new student, "This is (Y/N)(L/N) she has Autism and is extremely shy. Please welcome her with open arms."
(Y/N) walked past my desk with her head down and sat in the back row.
"Ok. Let's review this unit for the upcoming test." , said the math teacher.
We sat there and reviewed math equations.

(Y/N) POV

My next class was gym.
I didn't like gym too much.
A male goat approached me and said, "Howdy! I'm Asriel Dreemurr! What's your name?"
"(Y-y-y/n)(l/n)." , I replied, stuttering.
Why am I always like this around new people? I'm always super shy!
"Nice to meet you, (Y/N)."
I slightly smiled and looked down.
The gym teacher blew the whistle, "Ok! We're going to be starting basketball!"
I groaned in frustration.
"You don't like sports?" , Asriel asked.
I nodded no.
"I see. If we need to partner up for anything, I'll be your sports buddy!" , Asriel said.
Smiling slightly, I walked to where the basketballs were.
"Watch it newbie!" , A girl said.
"S-s-sorry." , I whispered.
"Come on, Abby! Leave (Y/N) alone!" , Asriel said, grabbing a basketball.
"Fine... because she's new."

(Asriel POV)

I didn't see (Y/N) at lunch. I wonder if she's okay.
When I got to my next class, there she was, sitting in the seat next to mine.
"I didn't see you at lunch. Were you okay?" , I asked.
(Y/N) simply nodded yes and took out her phone.
"You want my phone number?" , I asked.
(Y/N) gave me a look and handed me her phone. I guess that meant yes.
Good thing it's only study hall.
"Here you go, (Y/N)." , I said, handing her cellphone back.
"T-thank you." , (Y/N) said, not looking at me.
"Your welcome."
(Y/N) got out her manga and started reading.
—later—
I got home from school and my Mom, Toriel wasn't home yet from her teaching job.
Then my phone buzzed.
*buzz*
(Y/N): I'm sorry I didn't talk much today. The transition to a new school kinda messed me up. It wasn't exactly my idea.
Me: I understand. You don't have to apologize to me.
(Y/N): Thanks for being understanding, Asriel. :) I appreciate it.
Me: Of course, being the new student must be hard?
(Y/N): *nods* Yes.
(Y/N): Once I get into a routine and used to the school, I'll start talking more. :)
Me: Can I ask you a question?
(Y/N): Sure, I guess.
Me: What's it like? Having autism?
(Y/N): It's honestly different for everyone.
(Y/N): For me, it's more shyness and not being able to look people in the eye. I'm extremely intelligent though, which is unusual.
(Y/N): And having a hard time opening up about feelings. :(
Me: If you trusted the right person would you open up to them?
(Y/N): I don't know...
Then she stopped texting.

(Y/N)'s POV — dinner and upstairs

"(Y/N) dinner!" , Mom called.
"Coming!" , I said, putting my phone in my pocket.
"How was the first day at your new school?"
"Fine.." I trailed off my thoughts. I really didn't know rather not it was fine or not.
"I know it's tough having to transfer schools in middle of the year, but look on the bright side—" , Mom started.
"There is no bright side!" , I snapped.
"Was no one welcoming to you?"
"Well only one person.. but he's a goat.. his name is Asriel. Probably did it out of pity."
"Don't talk about yourself that way. At least this Asriel see's how great you are." , Mom said.
"Yeah..." , I said.
Then we finished dinner in silence.
I went back up to my room and did homework.
Waited a while to text Asriel back..
Me: Mom called me to dinner. So I stopped texting mid sentence. :(
Asriel: It's alright! I'm not mad at you!
Me: Great!
I put my phone down, worried that I said something wrong.
'Great. You should've said more.' , I thought to myself.
I picked up the manga I was reading earlier and read that until I fell asleep.

(Asriel POV) — In bed

In search engine— What is Autism? *search*
I'm trying to help (Y/N), so I'm googling what 'Autism' is on her behalf.
