"WHAT do you mean a Cincinnati Bengals game? Like the Bengals the football team?" Alana asked.

"Yeah. Their wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is really good." Jake replied.

Ja'Marr Chase. That name sounded familiar. Something about the Bengals gave Alana a sense of familiarity as well.

She shook her head at Jake. "No. I'm not going."

Jake squinted. "What do you mean you're not going? You have to go."

"I told you this before, I hate football and I'm never watching it again." Alana reminded.

"I don't care, Alana, you're coming." Jake exclaimed.

"But Jake—."

"No. No 'but Jake', if you don't come, I'm breaking up with you and I'm moving out. You know I can go right back to Monica if I wanted to. And besides, you can't afford rent without me." Jake hissed.

Alana swallowed. He was right. As much as she wanted to say, "fine, go you piece of shit", she knew she couldn't live without him.

"Okay. I'll come." Alana muttered and looked down.

Jake walked over to her and lifted her chin up with his finger.

"You know I love you, right baby?" Jake raised his eyebrows.

Alana'a heart was pounding. This didn't feel
like love.

"Yes." Alana answered.

"And you love me too, right?" Jake questioned.

"Yes." Alana whispered.

"I can't hear you, baby."

"Yes." Alana spoke up.

He removed his finger from underneath her chin.

"Good. Go meet your friends, I'll see you later." Jake smiled.

Alana plastered a fake smile on her face.

She then grabbed her bag and walked over to the door.

"Uh uh uh. You're forgetting something." Jake said.

Alana slowly turned around. She knew what he wanted.

She reached up and planted a kiss on his lips. She tried pulling away, but he started making out with her and slipped his tongue into her mouth.

She pretend to enjoy it. She should enjoy it because he was her boyfriend, but she felt like she wanted to cry.

Jake finally pulled away.

"I'll see you, baby."

"Bye, Jakie."

"Bye bye."

She slipped out of the door and cringed.

Her phone pinged and she saw that it was Kat asking her where she was and she replied and said she was on her way down to the lobby.

Alana sped down the stairs and saw Rei talking to Kat and Kat rolling her eyes.

"Hey."

Kat let out a relived breath. "God, finally. My ears were about to start bleeding."

"Shut up, you're such a bitch." Rei rolled her eyes.

"Me? That's all you. Al, where did you even find her?" Kat questioned.

"Don't complain to me about her, she's you're roommate now." Alana replied.

"You're right. And I do love her." Kat sighed.

"Aw, thank you. I love me too!" Rei smirked.

"I take it back."

Alana let out a small laugh, then looked down.

"What's wrong, babe?" Kat asked.

"It's probably Jake again." Rei replied.

"Would you stop with that!" Kat exclaimed.

"Why don't I tell you girls at brunch. Come on, let's go."

"Okay."

The three girls then headed out and made their way to Del Rey's.

"I don't know, you guys. Should we break up?" Alana asked.

"Yes."

"No."

Kat and Reina gave each other a look, then looked back at Alana.

"Look, Al, you may feel weird at times and you guys may fight, but all that matters is that you guys do love each other and that's it." Kat shrugged.

"Alison, I think you need to get away from him. This clearly isn't healthy and I don't know why Katherine is giving you horrible advice." Reina disagreed.

"It's not horrible advice, Reina! I just think she should stick it out some more and if she eventually thinks she needs to leave him, then she should." Kat replied.

What if he doesn't let me leave him? Alana thought.

"What if he doesn't let her leave him?" Reina asked.

Thank you. Alana thought, relived.

"Well then we'll help her. There's always a solution to every problem." Kat answered.

"Fine." Reina sighed.

"That's not the only thing, though." Alana said.

"What else?" Kat asked.

"He said we're going to a Cincinnati Bengals game." Alana revealed.

Reina's eyes went wide and she looked down.

She knew exactly who played for the Bengals.

Joe Burrow. Alana's ex-boyfriend.

"Oh yeah, Josh said we're all going. He bought the tickets." Kat informed.

"I don't want to go. You guys know how much I hate football after..." Alana trailed off.

"Yeah, I know, but it'll be fun." Kat replied.

Alana shrugged and looked down, but then looked back up.

"Do you guys know who Ja'Marr Chase is? His name sounds so familiar." Alana asked.

Kat and Rei looked at each other, then back at Alana.

"He went to college with us. He's friends with—."

"—my ex. Now I remember. They were like best friends. And you had the biggest crush on him, Reina." Alana smirked.

"What? No I didn't! Shut up! I don't do boyfriends!" Reina exclaimed.

"Whatever."

"If you say so."

"Anyway, I guess it'll be okay." Alana shrugged.

"Yeah. It'll be fun."

But Kat and Reina knew if she recognized the quarterback, things would not be fun.
