"Mommy look at me!" 9-year-old Cassandra Malik yelled over the wind. Megan, Cassie's mother, cheered for her daughter, smiling at the joy Cassie showed, to be at Zion National Park. As soon as Cassie could walk, Megan took her to the park to go hiking, swimming, and rock swinging.
Cassie's father was never in the picture, only sending gifts on her birthday and during Christmas time. So Megan always made sure that Cassie had an adventurous spirit and someone to look up to.
"Sweetheart, it's time to go! We are going to go get dinner and then head home for game night with some of mommy's friends," Megan called out to her daughter who was pretending to be a mountain goat. Cassie ran over to her mother and grinned, "Can we play Uno, mommy?!" Megan smiled at her daughter's eagerness, "Of course sweetheart, we can beat everyone and laugh."
Megan picked up Cassie and kissed her nose, "Let's go sweetheart." With that, the two Maliks made their way to their car.
