Chapter 8

Katy's P.O.V

3 am

I wake up in the middle of the night feeling dizzy then I started feeling nauseous

The dizziness started getting worse so I throw the covers off not caring Grace and John are in bed and run to the bathroom

" Katy, Katy" John runs behind me as me I get in the bathroom and start throwing up

" ugh I don't know what's wrong with me" I say as I lie down with my back against the tub and John sits on the edge

" probably just stressed and tired, you need a break"

" John I can't and I gotta start touring anyways"

He puts his head in his hands and I feel dizzy again which makes me throw up

He stands up and rubs my back and helps me get up and wash my face

" Kate I'll help you go down so you could lie down in the living room as I make you some tea"

" I'll just sit by the kitchen counter"

We walk down and he has his arms around me and I rest my head on his chest

He starts boiling the water

" I think we should go see a doctor "

" John you think I might be, you know um pregnant"

" no Katy we planned on not having another child"

Wow what if I actually was pregnant well yeah true we only planned on two kids but this wasn't our choice

" so you wouldn't want the child if I were to be"

" Katy just think about it, first tour then comes me going to the record label and working for I don't know how many hours then Grace starting school and visiting your parents and driving to Santa Barbara if they aren't here, it's just so much and you can't be on tour if you were to be pregnant Katy that just wouldn't work"

" well we don't know yet" I sigh as he gives me my mug with tea

We hear someone crying from our room

" doesn't sound like Hope" he says as he runs up

3 minutes later he comes back down

" mommy" Grace says as she reaches her arms out and John puts her on my lap

I look at Grace and think about everything, my family and how it'll be when I'm far away from them

" let's go back up" I say as John puts my empty mug in the sink

He carries Grace and we go back in bed

I lay my head on my pillow and look at John and we stare into each others eyes

" does it mean my career will be over"

" don't think about it that way, we don't even know what's going on"

I rub my face

" if you're worried then we could go now "

" you're crazy "

" yeah come on get up"

I get up and wear my adidas clothes

" John I'll call a nanny to watch over the kids"

" ok she lives close by right"

" yeah she'll be here in around 10 minutes"
