[was originally a M/NXjay fanfic so this chapter is all about Jay and
M/N]

M/N had been in this world for a couple of months now, and so far, nothing particularly interesting had happened. He couldn't help but wonder if he had ended up in a completely normal world or if he was actually in some sort of drama or comic world filled with unexpected roller coasters of events. However, M/N wasn't too bothered by the prospect of a mundane existence; he preferred a peaceful life without unnecessary trouble.

He wiped the sweat from his face and decided to play basketball again. With practiced ease, he aimed the ball at the hoop and effortlessly made the shot. Bouncing the ball a few times, he made another long-range shot, and once again, it found its mark. He wore an unimpressed smile as he retrieved the ball and his water bottle, ready to leave the court.

Just as he was about to head home, two hands suddenly covered his eyes. M/N had sensed a presence behind him long before this moment. He had noticed someone watching him shortly after he arrived here, and that person had been observing him for the past hour or so. Despite the proximity, M/N hadn't considered the figure a threat, so he continued to play basketball without much concern.

However, now that those hands had touched him and he could smell a sweet scent, M/N felt a sense of happiness wash over him. He covered the hands with his own and then playfully trailed his fingers down to pull at the cheeks.

"Jay."

Before M/N could turn to face him, the hands that had been covering his eyes smoothly moved to his shoulders, embracing him tightly. Jay rested his head against M/N's, their cheeks brushing together. M/N could feel the warmth of Jay's temperate skin against his own, even as Jay's hands remained oddly cold, as if he'd been trying to warm them up. Even without seeing Jay's face, M/N could sense his smile from the way his cheeks stretched.

"Out for a walk, Jay?" M/N asked, with a hint of concern in his voice.

Jay nodded in response. "It's so late at night. Why are you wandering around? It's dangerous," M/N pointed out, genuinely worried.

"What? I'm playing basketball at night too," Jay replied with a playful grin. "Besides, see that tall building over there? That's my house. It's only ten steps away, and there are security guards too."

"Well, your house isn't far, but still..." M/N started to say when his phone buzzed. It was a message from his butler, inquiring if he was safe and should return home. M/N sighed.

"Jay, it's my friend. He's calling me home. It's late, and you should head home too," M/N said with a touch of regret.

Jay snuggled even closer against M/N's shoulder and let out a contented sigh. M/N couldn't help but chuckle softly as he felt Jay's warm breath against his neck. Jay then looked up at M/N, still resting on his shoulder. His hands encircled M/N's waist, giving him a tight hug before he pulled away and ran off.

M/N was a bit surprised by the sudden gesture but waved Jay a goodbye, watching as Jay's figure grew smaller and cuter in the distance. He smiled before making his way back home.

Morning arrived, and M/N prepared to head to school. He spotted Jay sitting on one of the swings, waiting for him. M/N quietly approached and gave the swing a hard push with one hand while holding onto Jay with the other. It was enough to startle Jay, and M/N stopped the swing, helping Jay to his feet. M/N wondered if he'd surprised Jay too much.

"Did I scare you?" M/N asked.

Jay nodded slightly. M/N smoothed down Jay's slightly disheveled hair, ruffled by the sudden breeze. "Sorry," M/N said, picking up his school bag.

Jay gestured with his hands, indicating that there was no need to apologize.

M/N chuckled as they walked to school together. Soon, they were joined by Zack, who met them midway.

"Zack, it's a wonder. I remember you used to be late all the time, but for the past few weeks, you've been early," M/N remarked.

Zack displayed a touch of shyness before clearing his throat and replying, "Well, it's because of my mother. She's been waking me up early lately. It's not like I want to come early or anything."

M/N turned to Jay and nodded. "Jay says it's a good thing because the school is taking strict action against latecomers."

Zack looked puzzled. "Really? I've never heard of that," he said, turning to Jay. "What kind of strict action?"

Jay shrugged and made a playful face as he responded, and M/N translated for Zack. "Well, Zack, the action is that latecomers won't be allowed to attend exams or may even be suspended."

Zack's entire expression screamed confusion. It

was a pretty comical look, and Jay and M/N couldn't help but giggle.

While giggling, M/N made eye contact with a black-haired boy who seemed to be observing them. When the boy realized that M/N had noticed him looking their way, he quickly lowered his head in apology. M/N smiled and waved a friendly hello to the boy before they all entered the school.

That boy had an exceptional appearance—a beauty that seemed otherworldly, and his aura had a unique charm. Is he the son of fate in this world?
