Chapter 4 new plans

Payton? What are you doing here? Reuben  said as i stared mesmerized by his sea blue  eyes. "I could ask you the same thing" I said regaining my words as i slowly got up dusting off my new white skirt. " My grandma lives here and I came to visit her it was late notice. " he replied. "oh so you're Ms ohMallys hot grand..oomph" Shelly who i had not realized was standing next to me just happened to elbow me at that moment. I sent my best death glare towards her way , Reuben chuckled.

"Well I came here to drop off some of your grandmothers mail since some was in our box" he handed me the mail, that was slightly crushed from our fall. For the moment there was an awkward silence  and i couldn't help but whistle, way to make the awkwardness worse payton. I mentally slapped myself , if I would of done so  I think it would ruin any chances of  of Reuben think I was actually sane. A throat cleared and my eyes looked back at Shelly giving me the "why aren't you saying anything " look.  Before I could think of any possible  conversation Reuben spoke, "Well I better get going but I say you should give me your number since Fate did lead us to meet again." His smile was so dazzling all I could Do was nod.

I looked around for a pen and quickly scribbled my number  on  his hand. My smile grew larger, I hope I didn't look like a Cheshire cat, as I wrote the last number. Reuben waved goodbye as he closed the door walking out of my grandmothers house. I think I was smiling like an idiot ,yeah I did just broke up  with Jessie But who cares Reuben is twice the guy Jessie  is. "Hello earth to Payton" Shelly shook me once again knocking me out of my thoughts. Seriously I need to really stop doing that. "Did you say something" I turned trying to finally  focus on my cousin. "I said how do you know that very fine guy who just walked in" her all knowing smirk , she wanted all the details.

"I spent the day with him uh yesterday?" I met him just yesterday And here i was already seeing the guy somewhere else is that a sign?  "Omg you spent the day with him Where?" she was getting demanding voice that could be quite annoying. "Well I decided not to go to school and I met him  at coffee shop and we really hit it off we sat on a beach  near a lighthouse and then I was running late.  I told him that I wouldn't give him my number unless  we met again. Honestly I didn't think  I would see him so soon." let alone here it was still a little weird.

"Serendipity omg!" Shelly screamed. "This movie  I watched the other day  this guy meets a women and they really hit it off. She would only be with him if the found her name and number in a book and then he does!But like years later" She was talking relatively fast although I did understand. "Shelly that sounds nothing like my situation." Her eyes rolled "That's besides the point , the point is fate is bringing you two together!" she gushed.  "You will finally be happy" Her hug was bone crushing but I hugged her back. "Come on lets go eat out!"  She grabbed her purse and pulled me out the door.

Could this really be fate playing with my feelings again.. Jessie may be a jerk and I'm getting over it because maybe I didn't really love him. All I know is that this summer better take long. I need to make a lot of life decisions soon..
