Izuku never stood a chance. Deep inside, he had always known. He had always known he couldn't be a hero.
But now? Now that he met someone who he could stand up for and act like the hero he oh-so-wanted-to-be... ?
Maybe being a hero depends on one's point of view. After all, there was a big, fat lie all Heroes loved to tell. They always say that being a villain was something that was inherent within a person, a personality type or by nature of their quirk.
Wrong.
Villains aren't born, they are made.
In more ways than one, Izuku Midoriya was the best, living proof of that.
He felt Tsuna spread Sky Flames to his writhing Night Flames, calming him in all ways possible. Tsuna wasn't privy to things his Guardians can't open up, yet. But it wasn't a deterrent for him to feel bad for them. He always gave them time to adjust, to cope, taking care of them even more. They're his Family, after all. As their Sky, as their Boss, he'd do anything to protect them, including Izuku who was a late installment to them.
And Izuku would be forever thankful to that.
"I teach Basic Heroism," their teacher introduced. "This is the subject that provides training to teach you the basics of heroism." A pause. "So without further ado, today is Battle Trial! But before that," he procurred something like a remote and pressed it. The side of their room pushed inwardly, revealing to be an exclusive class locker. "Your costumes made according to your Quirk Reports and Personal Needs you guys submitted earlier before school!"
He felt Tsuna as the brunet fell at that. He's so sure that Reborn must've rigged his costume. So in return he sent out a combination of Sky and Sun Flames to him. His boss looked over his shoulder and smiled softly at him.
"Meet me at ground B after you change."
They all get to changing and surely enough, Tsuna is shy to come out. Because it's the traditional mafia gear - the 3-peice suit, complete with Primo's mantle! While Hayato and Chrome are wearing same suits as him, pants for Hayato and skirt and thigh high boots for Chrome, and Takeshi with his traditional hakama with a haori blazer. Izuku was nearly the same as them, though he opted for a sleeveless vest rather than a long-sleeved top coat, cuffing the white polo's sleeves to his shoulders, and a shorter neck tie. Hands wrapped in gloves that covered half the length of each finger, several rings adorning each fingers, like Hayato, as they used their rings to channel their many kinds of Flames. Hitoshi was also in formal wear, that red one the supporters wore during the Choice battle at the future-that-never-was, along with a voice-changing mask made by Verde and Spanner and the capture weapon similar to Aizawa's draped around his neck like a wooly scarf.
"Wow! Your costume is so cool, Sawada-kun!" Ojiro, the one with a tail and is wearing a martial artists clothing, admired.
"You look like a mafia boss it completely contradicts your soft face!" Sero Hanta, who was wearing a yellow costume that bared his dispenser-like shoulders added.
"Rivalry in darkness," Tokoyami mumbled.
"It's like a statement, 'ya ain't wanna mess with this two-faced bitch, villains'," Jiro added.
"Love those half-fingered gloves, you two!" Hagakure Toru, the invisible girl, saved for the flying gloves and shoes she's had which implies she's there, said.
"Juudaime always had the gloves on," Hayato defended.
"So I noticed, and I'd like to ask why?" Ochako piped in, cleverly directing any possible attention to him towards Tsuna. After all, she did know what were under his gloves.
"It keeps me warm," he simply answered. "And these change whenever I activate my quirk. Basically it's a support gear I always wear."
"But your quirk is fire. Doesn't that keep you warm enough?" said a split-colored hair guy - Shoto Todoroki - who Izuku remembered has an ice quirk.
"My flames don't regulate my temperature," he answered. "Ironically, I've always been cold, since my childhood."
The guy looked at him, scrutinizing. As if he's debating what to say. "Good for you," he simply said then stalked off.
"Isn't he the recommendations student?" asked Kaminari.
"Oui. He's the son of the number 2 hero, Endeavor," Aoyama answered for them.
"Not bad, everyone. You all look cool." All Might praied them as they exited the hall. "Now, let us begin, rookies! You will be divided into villain and hero and fight 2x2 indoors. Villains have hidden a nuclear bomb somewhere in the building and the heroes need to eliminate this threat. Heroes need to either capture the villains or retrieve the bomb, and villains need to either protect the weapon or incapacitate the heroes, all within the time limit." He held out a box, "you're partner and opponents will be decided by lucky draw!" He started picking shreds of papers and showed who will be teaming with who. "There you have the teams!" All Might announced after drawing the teams. He fishes from both box at his sides. "Now for the roles..." D and A were flashed to them. "First teams to fight will be Midoriya and Uraraka as heroes versus Bakugo and Iida as villains."
"How fitting," Izuku sarcastically taunted against Kacchan. The blond, in return, bared his teeth at the freckled teen.
"I'd say ironic," Hitoshi lauded.
"I'm inclined to agree," Tsuna chided.
"Preach it," Hayato scoffed.
"Hear, hear," Chrome went along.
"The others may proceed to the monitor room to watch the match."
