I drifted in and out of consciousness. The door to Aimery's quarters was unlocked, probably just another thing to taunt me. He knew I couldn't get out of bed. He knew I didn't have the energy for anything besides breathing.
Somewhere in the distance I heard trumpets...the royal wedding? Was that still happening? Hopefully Cinder and the others had found a safe way inside the palace.
Hopefully Levana would die.
A sob wracked my body, nearly choking me.
And hopefully I wouldn't be awake when Aimery came back.
