Namjoon just arrived with Jimin and as soon as the latter stepped out of the car, he ran straight to Taehyung's room. He found Jin organizing the remnants of the stuff that Yeontan destroyed, in a plastic storage box.
"Oh my god." Jimin whispered as he looked inside the box. He got teary-eyed as he remembered how he and Taehyung gathered all of the memorabilias for weeks. He even helped digitize all the photos and had videos from old VHS and betacam tapes converted into mov files — all saved in a flash drive that Tannie chewed on.
"Where's the USB, hyung?" Jimin asked.
"Here. I found two, actually. " Jin said, handing a small box to Jimin.
The latter opened it and saw that it was actually just the casing that was damaged. The chip and the wiring looked intact. He's hoping that some files can still be retrieved at the very least.
"Has he gone out yet?" Jimin asked.
"No. He stopped crying around ten minutes ago. I tried to check on him, but it's locked. He's been there for almost an hour." Jin said.
"I'll take care of this, hyung. You rest now. I already told Yoongi that I'm sleeping over." Jimin said.
Just then, Namjoon entered the room.
"He hasn't come out yet?" Namjoon asked and Jin just shook his head.
"You think you can make him, Jimin?" Namjoon asked.
"I'll try my best hyung." Jimin said.
"Okay, we will leave you to it. Just knock on our door if you need us." Namjoon said before leaving with Jin.
Jimin closed the bedroom door and then went to sit down beside the closet.
"Taetae? You want to come out and talk?" Jimin asked.
"Minnie?" Taehyung replied in a soft voice.
"Hey, bear. You okay there?" Jimin asked.
"Eomma's gone, Minnie." Taehyung said and Jimin could hear his sniffles.
"I know, bear. She's physically gone, but you remember what she said, right? She promised that she'd be around to watch you even if you can't see her? She won't be happy seeing you sad like this." Jimin said as he fought back his own tears from falling.
"Then, she shouldn't have left. I don't know if I can ever be happy again, Minnie. I miss her so much. What if one day I just forget all our memories together." Taehyung said.
"That's not true bear. You have her ingrained inside your heart and mind. So, how can you not remember? But, we will still try to at least save the USBs and see if we can still retrieve the files." Jimin said.
"Wait...you said USBs?" Taehyung asked.
"Yes, Jin hyung found two." Jimin said and suddenly the cabinet door opened revealing a panicked looking Taehyung.
"Where are they?!" Taehyung asked.
"Inside the box, there on your side table." Jimin pointed at it.
Taehyung opened the box and he started crying again. He placed the box back down on the table and then let his body fall on his bed. He took a pillow and covered his face with it.
Jimin stood up, clinbed on the bed and sat cross-legged beside his bestfriend.
Taehyung mumbled something, but since his face was covered by the pillow, Jimin didn't understand a word he said. Hence, the latter lifted the pillow just enough to see Taeh's face.
"What was that?" Jimin asked.
"I said please just smother me with the pillow and kill me now." Taehyung said.
