Chapter 7

"Kidding! No need to answer me. I already know who you really are." Franco said. He grinned like he knew something we didn't know.

Bigla akong kinabahan kaya napatingin ako kay Bea na nasa tabi ko. Napalingon rin ito sa akin. Seryoso ang mukha nito ngunit halata ang pagkabahala dahil sa sinabi ni Franco. He doesn't know, right? It's impossible that he know my real identity, gayong ngayon lang kami nagkita at nagkakilala.

"Siya nga pala. Bakit ngayon ka lang nagpakita? You're Zachary's mate, right? You two should be living together." I heard him asked.

I sighed in annoyance. Napatingin ako rito. He wa still grinning like an idiot. Kanina pa niya bukambibig ang pagiging mate ko kay Zach. Wala na ba siyang ibang sasabihin kundi iyon? We are in the middle of discussing on how to protect their pack and this man has another plan! And it's not funny anymore. My personal life is not their or his problem to meddle. It's mine and Zach's, not his.

Hinarap ko siya at hilaw na nginitian siya. "Yes, I am his mate and I know that, Mr. Franco. No need to tell me twice. But... we are not talking about me being Alpha Zachary's mate here, we are talking about his pack." Napakuyom ako. "So, if you still want to have a conversation with me about my personal life being connected with him, go on, I could give you the time. Anytime, anywhere that you please. But if you still insist it, the door is open, you are free to leave. I am not here to talk about my life, Mr. Franco, I'm here to talk about something that could benefit and save this pack." Mahabang wika ko rito. I could feel my heart thumping because of exasperation on this man.

The whole room fell silent. Kaya kinuha ko iyon na pagkakataon upang magsalita ulit. "Either, we'll continue this meeting or we can leave and have a conservation that you want to talk about, Mr. Franco." My fake smile is still on view and I'm near on losing my patience in this meeting.

Mas may mga mahahalagang bagay kaming dapat na pag-uusapan but this assh-le kept on butting some nonsense. I'm starting to hate this man!

Nung hindi pa rin sila nagsalita ay uli akong nagsalita. I want to end this as soon as possible. Mangyayari lamang 'yon kung maipahayag ko sa kanila ang gusto kong mangyari. "Death Arrow was gathering some rouges that have been cast out from their packs. They ramdomly pick, mapa-matanda man ito o menor de edad kinukuha nila. Hindi sila pumipili basta ba may maidagdag sila sa grupo nila. They are making an army, even though some of them are not for battles." Pagbibigay alam ko sa kanila.

The thing is, they are doing it bluntly. Kahit na umagang-umaga kung saan kitang-kita ang mga pangyayari. Hindi sila pumipili ng oras. As long as they have the subject.

"I don't get you." Zachary said. Napatingin ako sa kanya. Sa wakas nagsalita na siya. I thought he would remain silent all throughout this meeting.

"You said, Death Arrow are not someone we can take down because of our 3-month trained warriors. Maikli lang ang 3 months para labanan sila nang hindi natatalo. The chances were low. Yet, you are saying that they are taking in some rouges that are incapable of fighting. Because, if that's the case, it means we can win this battle." Naka-krus ang mga braso nito habang nakatitig sa akin nang nakakunot ang noo.

"But if you are making us confused or just wanting us to be unprepared. Then, I apologize, but I will do what, I think, is right and good for my pack." May diin nitong sabi.

Napatigil ako. He tilted his head to the side, still looking at me. Ang mga tingin niya na tila naguguluhan at nagdududa. Umiling iling siya saka nag-iwas nang tingin. Binalingan nito ang katabi. Wala sa sariling napakagat ako ng labi. I feel a pang in my chest when his eyes harden as he said those words. Umiwas ako ng tingin at lumunok ng ilas beses. Pilit na pinapakalma ang sarili.
