"I think pretty soon actually," Meek answered. The two of them struggled to make as little noise as possible to sit down.

"Do you think she'll be okay answering their questions?" She asked.

Meek sighed, "I don't know. She was struggling when they first asked,".

A hand I knew was Camile's lightly rubbed the top of my head.

"I can't imagine how she feels. God...," Camile's voice cracked.

"I know," Meek comforted, "I don't even want to think about it,".

The headache storming in my head only worsened as tears began to fill my eyes, just by listening to the hurt and pain in their voices. Knowing that they went through so much with my disappearance made my heart ache even more. I just wish I could take it away from them, they don't deserve to feel this way.

"Let's just," Meek sighed, "Let's just be glad that she's back,".

Camile sniffled, "Yeah, now we can smother her in our love,".

The two laughed quietly and my lips twitched into a smile. At least they're trying to be positive about it. Having them near me again was surreal, almost like a dream and it was beautiful but either it wasn't enough to fill the emptiness in me or that abyss might never be full ever again. As if a piece of me had been lost. But, what has been lost? Ah, once broken, always broken...right? I pushed the thoughts to the side and rolled over, facing Camile and Meek. I opened my eyes weakly.

Camile, staring at her phone, looked up. Instantly putting her phone to the side and scooting closer. They're so dreamy.

"Hey," she whispered in a smile, "How are you feeling?".

I pursed my lips, tilting my head to the side.

    "So-so?"

    I nodded.

"Do you need anything? Water, tea..?" Meek asked.

I shook my head and mouthed thank you.

"Throat still hurts?" Meek leaned on the bed. Those dark, gentle eyes of his carefully studying me. They're not captivating like they once were.

    I nodded. It really hurt.

"Mm," he hummed, "It'll heal in no time,".

Seconds after, there was a knock. Our attention directed towards the door and then Meek and Camile shared a look. I questionably stared at the two. What's with them?

Camile stood up, "I'll be right back,".

Meek took the chance to move to the chair closer to me and held my hand in his, stroking it softly. My eyes pinned him down, demanding answers. What's going on? He sighed out and smiled.

"The cops are back and uh," He exhaled, "They just need to talk to you for a little,".

My eyes drifted away from his. Here we go again. I honestly wanted the whole thing to be dropped and everything to be forgotten, even if I knew that would probably never happen. Camile and two officers walking in snatching me from my thoughts.
I struggled to push myself up but Meek thankfully helped me.

I sat with my head down and my hands fidgeting in my lap. From the corner of my anxious eyes, the officers sat down. Camile and Meek standing next to me on the opposite side of the bed. God, my head hurts.

"Hi Ms. Moon. How are you feeling?" The officer, Carry, asked.

I nodded my head, blinking away the dryness burning my eyes.
