"So you're telling me that you won't believe bullshit?"

"I know what you mean, it's just that I put a lot of time and effort into this relationship. It just hurts."

"That's normal. There are so many assholes out there nowadays, just treat it like a lesson learned. You live and you learn, right? Just remember that in the future."

"Yeah, this was a bloody lesson learn alright. Trust me, I'll remember," Chaeyoung said with red eyes.

"Now, you have to take a shower and get some sleep. Don't think about anything else."

"No, it's fine. I feel uncomfortable staying at your home," Chaeyoung said as she got up.

However, Lisa pulled her back down, "Jungkook isn't home, just stay."

"Thank god you're with me at a time like this," Chaeyoung suddenly hugged Lisa, sincerely thanking her best friend.

"Don't mention it. We've known each other for years; every time something happens to me, you're the first one to step up, aren't you?" Lisa said as she patted her back.

"Yeah, but I don't worry about you. As long as Jungkook's here, nothing will happen to you. It was like this seven years ago, and it is still like this seven years later. Lis, Jungkook is so good to you, don't you think?"

"I do."

"What about you? What's on your mind? Are you still planning to divorce him?" Chaeyoung quietly asked.

Lisa's expression dimmed upon hearing her question…

"Hey, you're barely out of the woods, let's not talk about me. Are you hungry? I can make you some food."

Chaeyoung knew that Lisa was instinctively avoiding her question, which meant that there was still something between her and Jungkook.

"Yeah, I am. Can you make me some instant noodles?"

"I don't have junk food like that at home, have some hot noodle soup instead. I'll make you some, one second."

With that, Lisa headed for the kitchen.

With Lisa's company, Chaeyoung became much more emotionally stable. After some noodle soup, she took a hot shower and fell right asleep.

The next day, they left the condo together – Lisa headed to work, and Chaeyoung headed home.

Before they parted, Lisa was still worried so she reminded Chaeyoung again, "Remember what I told you. Delete and block him from WeChat and your phone. You need to cut off all methods of communication, or else you'll just suffer more. If you still can't snap out of it, then his wife's life will become yours in the future."

"I know, girl, don't worry. Thanks for taking care of me last night."

"Just go home. Call me if you need anything."

After saying goodbye to Chaeyoung, Lisa went to Asan medical center.

Work at the laboratory was simple; plus, they weren't busy because there were a lot of people on-call.

The employees at the lab were really nice to Lisa and Wonyoung, much to Wonyoung's elation.

When they had the time, she and Lisa would gossip about random things.

"Unnie, the pregnant patient who you performed surgery on the other day is being discharged. They ran tests on her baby, and she's doing well also."

"Yeah, that's good. When I passed by the newborn clinic, I saw her baby. She's very healthy," Lisa smiled.
