Chapter 48__The urge to protect her

Mia took a deep breathe when she heard  that woman's voice.
Zenith got it now. The Quinns were protecting the fact that Mia is an illegitimate daughter.
Seeing this woman's reaction, Zenith could tell that Mia probably did not have it well in this family. He suddenly had the urge to protect her.
"Hello mom",  She greeted
Mrs Quinn saw Zenith and saw Chris.
" Don't call me mom", Mrs Quinn  said. She's in a bad mood this days because Yanis left the home.
"Hello, are you Mia's mum?",  Zenith asked her. That is when Mrs Quinn noticed his aura. He had this kind of air around him.
" Who?", Mrs Quinn asked.
Zenith smiled.
"I'm Zenith Baxtar",
Mrs Quinn was stunned.
" Baxtar? I'm wondering if you are related to that Baxtar's family", Mrs Quinn couldn't help but asked but then how could Mia know someone from that family.
"Never mind, You don't need to answer that. I don't want to mame things awkward for you.",  She said and looked at him disdainfully.
Zenith didn't say anything.
"Mia,  you're here",  Grandma Quinn was glad that Mia came to visit.
" Chris is here too", the old woman was obviously happy.
"Hello, grandma",  Mia greeted
The old woman smiled.
Chris bowed.
" Hello, great grandma", He was polite.
"Chris, you never ask of me",  the old woman said.
She had only seen Chris once and wished to see him often.
" Hello, ma'am", Zenith greeted politely.
Grandma Quinn didn't know who he is but she still greeted him.
"Hello",
Mia took the initiative to introduce him.
" This is Chris father,  Zenith"
Grandma Quinn was surprised.
"Chris father? Biologically?",  She couldn't help but asked.
" Yes. He found us", Mia simply said.
"The master is home",  A maid announced.
Grandma Quinn had informed him that Mia will be around that day and he wanted to see her do he came home earlier.
Mia had not seen this father of hers since she came back to B-city.
" Mia", He called when he saw her. He hadn't seen her for a long time.
"Hello, father", She sounded distance.
Mr Quinn saw the little boy at her feet.
" Is this your son?", he asked.
Yanis walks in. He gestured to the maid not to announce his arrival.
"Yes. He is",  Mia replied.
" Chris,  say Hello. This us my father", Mia said .
"Hello, mom's father", Chris called.
Mr Quinn wanted to ask the boy to call him grandpa when he met his wife gaze. He held himself back.
" You are meeting your grandson for the first time and this is your attitude to him dad?", Yanis asked.
Mrs Quinn smiled when she saw him.
"Son, you're home",  She said.
" I've you forgiven mom?", She asked him.
Yanis was cold to her. "I didn't come back home. I only came back because Mia said she's coming over. I haven't told her I left home",  he said.
Mrs Quinn face turned green.
Yanis saw Zenith.
" You are here too", he said.
Then  added.
"Oh! dad, have you met Zenith? He is the CEO of Zenith corporation and the heir to Baxtar empire. He is Chris father",  Yanis introduced.
Mrs Quinn couldn't believe her eyes.
" Zenith corporation? Baxtar?", She asked again. She must have heard wrongly.
"Yes. He had decided to take responsibility for Chris. He had taken him in and now Chris is fully accepted by the Baxtars",  Yanis said intentionally spiting his parent.
Mrs Quinn was the one who felt awkward. How can that guy be so lucky to sleep with such a big shot.
Zenith smiled at Mr Quinn.
"I came visiting today to meet Mia's family. Thank you for the warm welcome",  he said.
Mrs Quinn knew he was being sarcastic but how dare she refute him?
" I got gifts for everyone. I hope it will be appreciated", Zenith Said.
Mia gave the gifts to each of them.
"Thank you so much",  Grandma Quinn said.
" God bless you. I really appreciated this gift. Lunch is ready. We should eat", She said.
Zenith took a look at Mia and knew that the last thing she wanted is to eat with this people here.
"I'm sorry ma'am but we won't be able to eat. We need to be at somewhere else. We just came back to say Hi",  He said.
Mrs Quinn then said.
" Are you dating Mia now?", She asked. "Or is she just a side chick?a baby mama?"
Mia scoffed.
"You don't usually bother about me. I like it that way. Don't mind my business at all",  She told her.
" See her. So rude", Mrs Quinn decided to pour bile into her juice. "Do you think a slutty woman like you could marry into a rich family? You wanted to hug unto a big shot thigh? Mia, don't forget that you are just a lowly mistress daughter. You can only be a mistress like your mom. Your mom is always the other woman. You look so much like her so you can't be any difference. Are you sure you didn't plan with the doctor to forge the DNA result? There is nothing a scheming woman like you can  not do. You are a stain to our Quinns family",
" Mom, you are too much", Yanis was angry.
"Can't you at least show respect to the vusitor in our means. You look nothing like an elegant woman just now!",  Yanis said.
" I agree. She looked like a shrewd", Zenith said.
Mrs was embarrassed when she heard Zenith.
"I used to think that the Quinn is a nice family but who knew it if filled of so much dirt",  Zenith added.
He turned to Grandma Quinn.
" I'm sorry but my son will cone here less often in the future. I can't let him learn from this kind of atmosphere " He turned to Mr Quinn.
"I was thinking of getting to know you better and talking with you over drinks about some business but I just discarded those thought. Respect my son and his mother and I will forget about all this but disturb them and I will show you some magic in the stock market",  Zenith said.
He didn't say anything to Yanis. He just walked out with Mia and Chris following behind him.
Mia was very moody. She expected this already and didn't know why she still felt hurt. It is probably because her father was still as cold as ever towards her. She grew up without knowing her mother,  her father was cold to her and was always scolding her. Her step mother hated her existence and always maltreated her. Her grandmother raised her but that doesn't mean she pampered her or was able to protect her from her step mother.
Mia grew up and hated having attachment with people. She was like a ice princess, always ignoring everyone and paying less attention to people.
She looked at Chris and hugged him.
" Mom will love and care for you, Chris", She said. "I will never leave you. I will always be there for you"
Zenith watched as Mia suddenly turned emotional and sigh. He could imagine how Mia lived in such a family for years.
It must have been hard for her.
