"Are you sure you can go like this?" James asked his wife as they got ready for Trooping."You're due anytime now."
"Yeah. I can do this." Eleanor replied as she put on final touches to her lips.
Eleanor started maternity leave right after Harry and Meghan's wedding. She's been staying back at Windsor Castle for a while now, not wanting to be too far away from London in case she needs to make a trip back. They've been staying at Kensington though these past week as Eleanor is due any moment now.
Today however, is Trooping of the Colour, The Queen's official birthday celebrations. Eleanor has every reason to miss the special occasion, as she is literally about to pop.
However, since marrying James, she hasn't missed a single Trooping. Not when she just gave birth to her children, not even when she's heavily pregnant like she is now.
"Besides, Granny asked me to ride with her this morning. Philip has stepped down from royal duties now and she's riding alone." Eleanor shrugged.
It's true though, it's the first time ever in decades that Queen Elizabeth rides alone for Trooping of the Colour. Therefore, she has personally asked Eleanor to ride with her today. She knew that it must be lonely after years of having someone by your side, only for them to not be there anymore.
So when The Queen asked Eleanor to ride with her, one its impolite to say no the Queen and second, she just couldn't say no.
After kissing James goodbye, Eleanor got into her car and head over to Buckingham Palace to meet with the Queen for the carriage ride.
