Walk with the walls around me

Poems about me and my struggles.

In essence of sixteen
Passionate,
I would not be myself if my heart is not consumed by something,
I am what I love and I love what I do quite a lot.
Growing,
always looking for a way to make myself a better man,
I yearn to grow towards the sun like a tree in need.
Explorative,
I want a deeper understanding of what I do not understand and on my deepest level want to know what I don't.
Everchanging,
What is true today may be a movement of the past by tomorrow.
Artistic,
I find understanding and happiness in creation above all else.

About me and my shadow
I think we are the things we love.
Late nights spent writing poetry.
Being up to see the sunrise.
Time spent alone but not lonely.
Mornings filled with coffee.
Passion that holds me tight.
People who leave me feeling seen.
Writing anywhere and everywhere.
That is me, that is what I am.

The show must go on
I am beyond exhausted,
My knees are bruised,
My eyes grow tired,
My shoulders ache,
My heart is heavy,
The show must go on.
I've never felt more disconnected,
I may not be sure I'm human,
But I'll never admit it,
I shake on my mask,
The show must go on.
I have a deep sense of sorrow,
I am trapped in moments that happened years ago,
Lost in the whys and hows,
Confused on how someone could hurt another like he did,
The show must go on.
Every day, nearly every moment I stand on a stage,
I exhaust myself playing a part,
Because what am I if not what they want me to be.

The rain
Sometimes I wish I could step out of my body, step out of me, for just a little while.
Or that I could unscrew my head and find some quiet.
Because when I am the way I am the rain keeps pouring.
Even in the sun, even in the spring, I pour an endless rain.
I don't enjoy the rain, the soaked tennis shoes and jeans,
But I don't know myself without it.
