Poems inspired by lessons I've recently learned and the major arcana.

Nothing lasts forever
I used to get caught up in the forevers and lifetimes,
It dragged me down,
The fear that the way I felt would last the rest of my life.
I one day realize nothing lasts forever,
No life, no feeling, no interest, no person,
Everything is temporary,
All of this will pass.

The book of your mind
The moments we live in now will all be a memory someday,
Every month that passes is a new chapter in the book of your mind,
Someday you'll turn back and reread the pages,
You'll laugh at today's worries and troubles.
I'll look fondly back on the sunny days,
And realize what I learned from the rainy ones.

How I once thought it was
I've never felt more free than the moment I realized nothing matters as much as I thought it did.
We are all just humans, doing our best, trying to find happiness on a floating rock in space,
All too worried about ourselves to notice the pitfalls of others.
So why not be overdressed?
Why shouldn't I do what makes me happy?
It's not as meaningful as I once thought it was.

To define is to limit
I spent much of my life trying to find a label that fit,
At one point I realized no such thing would happen.
Humans are great, big, and expansive,
We are full of fluctuation and change,
Not fixed or set, not in any sense.

On growing up
I spent much of my life scared to grow up,
Scared to get old, scared to change,
But nowadays I'm excited,
I look forward to getting older,
I'm happy to see what life has to offer.
