Once Dad came back home, he took Ryder and I out to lunch. He had plenty of questions about my first encounter with the paparazzi. Ryder happily answered them all. I didn't feel like revisiting the topic.

Their conversation was interrupted when Ryder's phone buzzed.

"Great. Mitch's car 'broke down.' I have to go pick him up from...Brooklyn. Don't ask why he's there. Only the Lord knows."

He stood up gathering his stuff and kissed my forehead quickly.

"Hey Ryder, you should swing by for dinner tonight with the family. We can talk some more tour logistics."

He looked at me for reassurance and I nodded while rolling my eyes.

"What time should I be there?"

"I'll text you when. Just go get your brother."

He waved goodbye to both of us before walking out of the restaurant. I grabbed

my glass to take a sip of water, while Dad stared at me with a smile on his face. That caused me to smile.

"Why are you staring at me like that?"

"I just haven't seen you this happy in a long time. Ryder has really brought you

back to life."

I smiled when I realized he was right. it had been a long time since I had been really happy.

"So, honey I hate to spring this on you again, but I need an answer about the tour. I know I kind of just threw the question at you but-."

"Dad I know what I want to do. I want to do the tour. Really."

His smile grew to the point to where it was covering half of his face and I couldn't help but laugh. He hugged me tight and told me how proud he was of me for doing this. I'm pretty proud of me myself.

-dinner-

Once Ryder got to the house, he came to sit with Bogie and I in the living room as we waited for everybody else to come back home.

First ones through the door were Edney and Miranda.

"Oh look Ryder's here. Yay."

"Nice to see you too Miranda."

"Cut him some slack Miranda. You might be stuck with him for the rest of your life."

Her words gave me cold chills as I moved to sit with Bogie on the floor to color. Miranda ran upstairs to change and Edney joined us.
