he was still sitting there, numb and shocked when Joon arrived.

"The Queen and the Duke are on their way, The palace has been informed and they're preparing to brief the press though the news has already leaked."

"Sorry Joon," Jungkook said scrubbing a hand over his face.

"I should have been helping you not just sitting here..."

"Kai handled most of it."

"Besides, you've got more important things to worry about right now."

"The good news is, I have revoked the arrest warrant for Jimin and spoken to the navy."

"There'll be no more attempts to take anyone into custody."

"The three of you can rest easy."

"I've asked the royal guard to leave a small group here on protection detail."

"You are the second heir to the throne after all and these are your children."

"Not my legitimate children," jungkook pointed out.

Joon waved that off. "Nothing a piece of paper won't sort out."

"If you're willing to wait a few weeks it shouldn't be a problem for you and Tae to wed Jimin in an adversarial bond."

"We can have it back dated to when you left the palace during the contest."

"We'll tell the public you eloped."

"spin it as a hidden romance."

"It's close enough to the truth and they'll need some good news after all the sadness."

Jungkook got to his feet, crossing the room to stand face to face with Joon.

He needed his brother to know the truth.

Needed to know if he'd see the same disgust in his eyes that he'd seen in their dad's.

"It isn't just Jimin that I love." jungkook told him.

Joon surprised him with a hug. "Oh, I know."

"Cinder worked it out back when Lisa was taken."

"I hope that one day soon."

"it won't be a love you have to hide."

"Thanks, Joon."

"That means a lot."

His brother moved back toward the door.

"We'll let you know when our parents arrive."

"I'm sure they'll want to see you, all of you."

"Do they know?" Jungkook asked glancing back at tae, Jimin and their three slumbering babies.

"Kai let the cat out of the bag a while back in the hopes they'd be able to persuade Dad to be reasonable."

"I guess he was long past that."

"I guess," jungkook said softly thinking of their dad's last words.

"Your reign won't be his, you know?"

"From the stories everyone tells, you're a lot more like Uncle Hyun than you are like Dad."

"I suppose that remains to be seen, doesn't it?"

"At least I won't have a voice whispering poison in my ear."

"And Uncle Jiwoo?"

"What happens to him now?"

"The royal guard is holding him for questioning."
