Chapter 14: License and Registration

Name, race, familia, etc. but I was able to fill it all out until one thing popped up.

Age... umm. I clearly didn't look 37... or rather I guess by now I'd be around 40 with the time I spent in the other world, but that just proved my point further. I could pass off as maybe 13 or 14, but was a child even allowed to be in the dungeon?

Is that why the lady looked concerned when I said I wanted to be an adventurer? Well, she didn't stop me...

Apparently seeing my concern Sophia glanced over my shoulder.

"Hmm?"

She saw the part I stopped on and looked at it.

"Age, huh?" she spoke calmly enough. "Just put 14," she responded cooly.

"Huh? Really?" I responded in disbelief.

"Yeah. age isn't really a problem in this profession cause if you have a god's blessing you're already far more powerful than the average human," she explained.

"I-is that so?" I responded. "But why 14?" I whispered to make sure I wasn't overheard.

"Cause you look 14. Duh," she responds dully. "I guess with your level you could say 17 or 18 but there isn't too much point in dwelling on it."

"Huh? Why would me being a higher level matter for my age?"

"Well, the higher level you are the less you age due to gods blood making you more immortal or something or other," she replied disinterestedly. "Just put down a number it shouldn't matter too much."

"Is there a problem?" the girl behind the counter asked concernedly.

"Oh, no there's none." I waved away the issue.

Let's just put 14. I quickly write down the "age" Sophia suggested.

"Alright here." I gave back the form to the lady behind the desk.

As I gave it back I heard some whispering.

"Is that The Shadow Fox," someone said pointing to Sophia.

Hmm? This caught my attention.

"Hmm? Whose that?" someone else responded?

"Huh? Haven't you heard? Rumor has it she came from out of town." the original person responded.

"Yeah so?"

"You just don't get it, do you? They say her level was already 5 by the time she entered Orario!" he exclaimed.

"What? No way I can believe that. Most people would be lucky to get to level 3 even with the dungeon. Do you really expect me to believe that she just waltzed into the dungeon city at level 5? Even the legendary Hiryute sisters were only level 3 when they got into the city."

"Believe it or not her strength is recognized by the guild, it's gotta be the real deal." while I listened in on this back and forth I noticed Sophia's ears were twitching. She probably heard it too and was just trying to ignore it.

Perhaps being the center of attention was tiring for her? With her personality, I could certainly see her thinking it's bothersome.

In any case, I decided to ignore that for now and simply move along with the process of getting my adventure license.

After the girl behind the counter looked at my information she spoke. "Alright since it seems you have former experience as part of a familia would you come with me so I can confirm your status?"

"Alright," I say as I begin to follow her into a closed-off room.

(Sophia POV)

I watched rimuru walk behind the guild staff member into the room.
