Chapter 12: The Missing Puzzle Pieces

"The base is underground?" Gwen questions.

"Don't play dumb at me. I'm like a lying detector, you can't lie to me" Nat claims.

"Then I guess you must be broken" Gwen spats.

"Pretty sure you'll be the broken one when this all comes to an end" Nat tells her in a threatening tone.

"You aren't going to kill me, thought you needed me even though I don't have the answers" Gwen questions.

"Who said I am going to kill you? No, no, I'm going to torture you if it comes down to that" Nat smirks.

She sees Gwen freezing for a second but Nat quickly catches it.

"It's pointless" Gwen shrugs. "I can't give you the answers cause I don't have them so torturing me won't do anything if I literally don't know them."

"We'll see. I'll give you time to think about it but first I want to talk about what you got yourself into. You, Gwen Stacy, had helped kidnapped a minor. A minor being only fifteen years old and then even kidnapped his fifteen year old friends. Norman Osborn aka Green Goblin, Mysterio and Doc Ock whatever the hell their real names are all torturing that poor and innocent boy that you so helped to get him there. I already told you what you're facing. What's legal at least but if we want to maybe go illegally, you are going to deal with us avengers. We can do whatever we want and make it set up to seem like we never did a thing. That we never laid a hand on you. We can even send you to who are the rest of Shield and you can be kept there or...you can be sent to the Raft. I mean you can easily face death penalty as well. We can make your life a miserable living hell if you don't give me the answers we are looking for. It's all up to you honestly, I'm giving you the choice but if you choose to not answer, those are all what you can be looking forward too" Nat threatens before standing up.

"Wait" Gwen cuts in, making Nat stop and sit back down. "All I know is that this has to deal with his parents and his powers. I don't know a ton. I mean that's basically all I know. Osborns a stubborn man and after getting betrayed by Richard Parker, he doesn't really trust anyone. I mean he barely trusts me and that's why I don't know the full thing. I didn't even know they were going to torture him. I thought they were just going to stick a needle in him and get his blood and that's all."

"I know you have more information so just spill it already" Nat demands.

"I mean he brought up Peters friends but he only said he'd grab them if forced too, if necessary but I thought that didn't make any sense since like I said, I thought they were only getting his blood through a needle sorta thing. I didn't even know they were going to keep him for a day from a month now. I thought it was going to be a week or two at most" Gwen rambles.

"What did he do to you?" Nat questions.

"He threatened me and made me sign some papers when I started to intern him at seventeen. He told me he'd give me a scholarship for college and give me a lot of money for my payment on the job. He also threatened to hurt my dad which I didn't believe at first but then I heard these crazy conversations with him and the goblin and I just...did what he told me to do" Gwen admits.

"And what were the conversations about?" Nat wonders.

"It was all one sided conversations. I never heard the goblin unless he and Osborn took control together. I only know he was talking to the goblin because he was alone in his office, he didn't have any scheduled phone calls and he definitely sounded like he was planning something" Gwen explains.

"I'm sorry he blackmailed you" Nat apologizes.

"And I'm sorry for lying" Gwen also apologizes.

"If you're sorry, can you tell me the rest of the information you're hiding? We can help you get out of this as long as you tell us everything about where, who and just everything you know" Nat bargains.
