The college corridors echoed with the hurried footsteps of students, a lively buzz filling the air as everyone navigated through the hustle. I navigated the sea of people, weaving my way to my locker to gather the books needed for the upcoming class.

Suddenly, a forceful bump jolted my shoulder, and as I looked up, there stood Jungkook, his smirk revealing a mischievous intent. "Watch it," I muttered, readjusting my books.

Goddamn, he is so annoying.

A comforting pat on my shoulder redirected my attention, and I turned to find Jane, my best friend who happened to be Jungkook's cousin too.

"What's up with your expression?" she asked.

"Your brother. I can't stand him." I replied as we headed toward the first class.

"Did he manage to annoy you again? You know how Jungkook is - just being himself," Jane chuckled.

"Always defending him. Aren't you supposed to be on my side?" I quipped, a hint of playful annoyance in my tone.

As we entered the classroom, Jungkook was already there, chatting with some friends. I found a seat and soon the class began. But of course, I could not understand a shit. Why study the things that have no practical use in the future?

After a lot of boring scribbles in the notebook, the class ended. I collected my books and made my way out in the hallway with Jane.

"Which is your next class?" Jane asked.

"Business," I replied.

"I have something to tell you after business class," I informed Jane.

"okay, see you in the cafeteria then."

After the business class, I and jane made our way to the cafeteria as planned. The aroma of various cuisines filled the air as we entered the bustling space, students chatting, laughing, and enjoying their meals.

As we stood in line to order, I couldn't help but glance around, half-expecting Jungkook to appear out of nowhere. Jane noticed my subtle unease and nudged me playfully

"Relax, Yena. Not every corner of this college is Jungkook territory," she teased.

I rolled my eyes but couldn't shake off the feeling that he might pop up when least expected. We grabbed our trays, filled them with an assortment of food, and found a table near the window.

Just as we settled into our seats, Jane pointed towards the entrance. "Speaking of the devil," she muttered.

Jungkook strolled into the cafeteria, his charismatic presence turning heads. He scanned the room, and for a brief moment, our eyes locked. A mischievous glint sparkled in his gaze as he made his way towards our table.

Now why is he coming our way?

"Mind if I join you ladies?" he asked his infamous smirk firmly in place.

"Yes, we would mind. Just go find another table." I retorted, subtly pushing him away.

Jane, looking at Jungkook with a mix of amusement and annoyance, sighed and added, "Jungkook, we don't want your company right now."

Rolling his eyes, Jungkook made his way toward his group of friends, and Jane couldn't help but giggle.

As the atmosphere lightened, she turned serious, urging me to share what was on my mind.

"I always hear this particular melody in my dreams. Last night, after our study session, I heard the same melody playing in the library," I explained.

Casually stuffing her mouth with rice, Jane replied, "That melody could be from a popular song."

"No, you're not getting it. No song exists like that. It's something unique to my dreams," I clarified.

"At least that's what I think."

As we delved into a more in-depth discussion about my recurring dream melody, Jane's curiosity grew. She set down her fork, giving me her full attention.

"Okay, tell me more about this melody. What does it sound like?" she asked, genuine interest replacing the playful banter.

"It's hauntingly beautiful, Jane. Like a bittersweet lullaby echoing through a moonlit night. I can't fully describe it, but it feels oddly familiar," I explained, searching for the right words.

Jane, leaning in, absorbed every detail. "And you heard this in a library? That's... unusual, to say the least. Did anything else happen in your dream?"

"I wish I could remember more clearly. But hear me out, In my dream, I followed the melody and found a couple standing by a riverbank. Strangest thing is that the woman in the dream looked like me," I recalled, still trying to process the vivid scenes from the night before.

Jane raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "A look-alike in a dream? That's some next-level symbolism. Are you sure it wasn't just a random dream?"

"I can't shake the feeling, Jane. It felt significant, like a piece of a puzzle that I can't quite put together. Maybe it's just my imagination, but I can't ignore it."

As we continued our conversation, the cafeteria buzzed with activity around us. Jungkook, now engrossed in his world with friends, occasionally glanced our way.

Jane, noticing my distraction, nudged me gently. "Forget about him for a moment. Focus on your dream. Maybe we can figure it out together."

"I feel deeply connected to that dream and I don't know why," I said, my eyes glistening with a sense of hope.
