"Callie, I want you to stay out of this," Clark says.

"Too bad, Clark. I'm here to help you, so that's what I'm gonna do," I state, as I approach some blood on the ground. "Looks fresh. He's around here... somewhere," I add.

Clark walks ahead, and I glance around.

I don't like this... I don't like this at all.

Suddenly, I hear Clark exclaim making me speak. "Clark," I shout, before rushing past the cars. I skid to a stop when I see the man lying on the ground. "What the hell happened?"

"I don't know," he admits, looking up. He heads forward, and I follow him. He steps on something, and we look down to see a bite taken out of an Oreo.

We jog around a corner when we see someone standing a few feet from us. However, we can't see his face because he's hidden in the darkness. "Hey! That was you, wasn't it," Clark says. The person's eyes glow red, before he jumps up, flying off into the night, leaving just a red trail behind him.

"So, what, your cell phone service doesn't get reception in Seattle," Chloe questions making me look up from the book I'm reading.

"I was preoccupied," Clark states.

"That's fine. But you were up against an alien from another planet. I was worried," she says, looking over at me. "About both of you." I give her a faint smile.

"I'm sorry."

"So the crystal was a success?"

"No, it wasn't," I shake my head.

"Then did the Zoner just decide to pack up and leave the solar system?"

"Someone else killed him," Clark sighs. "Someone who can do things I could only dream of."

"Whoa! So this someone, he's, um, on our side, right?"

"I'm not sure."

"Clark, it's me. Your most trusted friend and secret-keeper, besides Callie. How about a few details?"

"Believe it or not, there are some things you don't need to know."

"Look, I understand that you feel like all these psychopathic space invaders are your fault but you can't keep it all inside. You feel the need to carry the world on your shoulders and that's noble, but there are other people out there who wanna help you fight the good fight and you need to let them in. Because sometimes, even heroes need to be saved," Chloe sighs, before heading down the steps.

"You know, she's right, Clark," I say, standing up. "You won't even talk to me, and I'm your sister. What happened with the Zoner's isn't your fault, and you need to start letting people in. I know you think if you let people in, they'll just end up getting hurt, but the people around you, the people that wanna help are a lot stronger than you may think they are."
