*that night*

"So, Robin Hood and Maid Marian," I say.

"You catch on quick."

"It's not that hard, given your choice of legwear," I shrug.

"You have a quick tongue. I find that very attractive," he admits.

"Alright, keep it in your pants, Robin Hood," I chuckle. "So how did you earn your fortune? Do-it-yourself or handed to you on a silver-platter like our host's?"

"It belonged to my parents... and I, uh, inherited it when they died," he admits. My expression softens.

"I'm sorry, Oliver. I didn't know," I sigh.

"It's okay. Like you said, you didn't know."

"You know, I wasn't gonna admit it but if anyone can pull off tights, it's you."

"You should see him in a tutu," I hear a familiar voice say making me look over. I see Lex and Lana.

"Lex Luthor.. with a girl that he doesn't have to inflate."

"Lana Lang, Oliver Queen. We went to, uh, boarding school together," Lex introduces.

"Talk to any of the old gang lately?"

Lex is silent. "Enjoy the party."

"I always do."

They walk off, and I speak. "It doesn't seem like you guys are super close."

"You could say that."

"Well, despite whatever tension you guys have, they look good in their costumes, I'll give 'em that. Come on, let's go find my mom. I'll introduce you guys." I take his hand in mine, leading him through the crowd.

I finally spot my mom's familiar red hair, smiling. "Mom," I call out, walking over to her. "I've been looking all over for you. I would like you to meet Oliver Queen."

Her eyes light up. "Mr. Queen, it's nice to finally meet you," Mom smiles.

"The pleasure's all mine. Callie's been telling me all about your policy points. We should get together and talk about how I can help you."

"Oh, I'm looking forward to that. Thank you," she nods.

"Thank your daughter. She can be very persuasive," Oliver says, looking over at me. Mom gives me a look, and I roll my eyes, smiling.

*after the party*

"I have enjoyed courting you against your will this evening."

"Not against my will. I let you," I correct him. He stops walking, spinning me around and looking down at me.

"Can I kiss you?"

"Hmm... as much as I'd like that, I think I need a show of skill first."

"That's where I was going with the kiss."

I chuckle, shaking my head. "Let's make it harder than that," I say, glancing around when I spot a can in the distance. "Hit that can with your arrow and I'm yours."

"You're that easy, huh?"

"It's that hard."

He nods, looking at me. "I'm gonna go for it." I smile, and he walks over to his car and grabs his bow and a single arrow. He walks back over to me, placing the arrow on the bow. "All right, show me what you got."

"Here goes nothing." He raises his bow, pulling the string back, focusing on the can. I notice him tilt it upwards slightly, before releasing the arrow. It lands in the wall, but I notice that the tab on the can isn't there anymore.

I walk toward it, taking a closer look when I see that his arrow when right through the tab's hole and landed in the wall. My mouth drops open, as I pull his arrow out, holding up the tab. "Technically... you didn't hit the can, but you did something much more impressive," I say, walking toward him.

"Lucky shot I guess."

"You seem to have a lot of luck on your side," I say. "Or... are you hiding something from me?"

"Like what?"

"I don't know. That was pretty precise, Mr. Queen, even for a lucky shot, but guess what?"

"What?"

"You didn't hit the can."
