*the next morning*

There's a knock at the door making me stand up from the counter. I walk toward the door, opening it to see Oliver standing in the doorway, holding the newspaper. "Ooo, come in," I say, grabbing his hand and pulling him inside. We take a seat next to each other, and he flips to the article.

We read over it, and I slowly nod. "Not bad."

"The Green Arrow Bandit? Doesn't really roll off the tongue."

"Agree, but I didn't write it. Hey, did you hear that he went to the Daily Planet and gassed Lois and Chloe and stole the ring back," I say. "Apparently, he showed up right after I left."

"So he did that and he stole your mom's necklace all within a 24-hour period?"

"Yep. Look, it doesn't matter what he's called as long as she has his face plastered all over the front page paper."

"Well, without that ring, she's not as close to IDing this guy as should would've been."

"I know, it's a shame, but I'm pretty sure she stretched the truth a little bit."

"Well, it's a good thing the Inquisitor doesn't pride itself on integrity. Listen... I know you're not directly involved in this as must as she is, but I don't like the idea of either of you dangling yourself out as bait in front of this guy. Anyone after the Green Arrow is gonna come after either one of you, or both."

"Well, I don't know about her, but I can handle myself," I assure him.

"Oh, really?"

"Mm-hmm, trust me," I nod.

"You know, I thought we did away with the shoot-first-ask-questions-later mentality."

"I mean, he attacked my mom and stole the necklace from her. Like Clark said, she does not need to be indebted with the Luthor's. However, if he gave me a good reason as to why he stole that necklace, then sure, maybe I'd change my mind. I don't know about her, though," I admit.

"What if you found out you knew the guy?"

"Depends on who he is and once again, what his reasoning is."

"How about... you forget about all this for the weekend and come with me to Cancun? I can have you there by sunset," He offers.

"As tempting as that is, I can't."

"Why not?"

"I can't just leave for a weekend. I'd not only have my mom worried but Clark, too," I sigh.

"You're an adult. You're allowed to have fun, you know," He points out.

"I know... but I can't. Raincheck, though," I sigh.

*that night*

"Uh, what are we doing again," I ask Clark.

"Lionel said this is the only place on the SafeTex list that hasn't been hit yet. I'm guessing he'll show up here, and when he does, we can stop him," Clark explains.

"Well, if you think this is gonna work, then sure. Let's try it."
