Can someone tell me how the heck did I end up in this situation?

"Your Majesty, are you really sure about my daughter?"

"Of course, Theo! She's your daughter after all. Sino pa ba ang sa tingin mo ang karapat-dapat na babae para sa anak ko?"

Exactly three days after the hunting festival, the emperor invited the Vellamo family to have a dinner to talk about the wedding. A freaking wedding!

Hindi nyo alam kung gaano ako tumutol sa loob ng tatlong araw na iyon! I even kneeled outside Duke Theodore's office just so he won't agree with the emperor about this damn wedding! Halos matawag ko na rin lahat ng santo at santa para lang hindi sila pumayag sa kasal na 'to!

Apparently, there's a rumor circulating in the entire empire that me and Remus are dating. That we have a thing going on between us. And I don't even know why or how that damn rumor were made or who started it! That is one of the reason why the emperor decided on that marriage! Gaaah!

I swear! Muntik ko na mamura ang tatay ni Rem dahil sa sinabi nya sa akin! Mabuti nalang at napigilan ko. Marry his son? The heck! Parang inutusan nya lang akong samahan ang anak nyang bumili sa tindahan.

"This is bound to happen, anyway." The emperor stated as a matter of fact. So, Lucille's marriage to the crown prince is already set on stone? I know it was what everyone assumed since before but for it to actually happened...

Pasimple akong tumingin kay Remus. Tahimik lang syang nakikinig sa usapan ng emperor at ng duke. I can't even read his expression. He should be the one complaining right now and not just staying silent. Alam ko namang ayaw nya rin ang nangyayari ngayon. Don't tell me that it's alright for him to marry someone he doesn't love?

Siguro ay naramdaman nyang nakatingin ako sa kanya kaya nagangat sya ng tingin at tumingin sa akin. Agad ko syang pinandilatan ng mga mata at sumenyas na magsalita sya at kausapin ang tatay nya. He just looked at me for a second before ignoring me and continued on staying silent. That pisses me off. Greatly. Kung ayaw nyang magsalita ay ako ang magsasalita!

I raised my hand to get the Duke and the emperor's attention. Maski si Remus ay napatingin ulit sa akin kaya mabilis at pasimple ko syang inirapan.

"Sorry to interrupt your conversations," I started. "Please allow me to voice out my opinion regarding this marriage, Your Majesty." Pagpapaalam ko. Mahirap na dahil baka masamain nya ang biglang pagsasalita ko.

"Of course, Lucille. You may." The emperor said, smiling. Mula sa gilid ng mga mata ko ay kita ko ang pagkabahala sa mukha ni Remus at ng tatay ni Lucille. Are they worried that I might say a few words that may cause my tongue to be chop off? Do they think of me stupid? I inwardly scoff.

I smiled at the emperor before speaking. "I know you want me to marry Prince Remus but aren't we getting a little too fast?"

Kumunot ang noo ng emperor. "Why? Isn't it the sooner the better?"

I smile at him. "But I ought to know more about the crown prince if we were to get married. After all, Prince Remus hasn't formally courted me yet," I said, acting like a damn teenage girl.

Napatingin ang emperor kay Remus bago muling bumaling sa akin. "You two basically almost grew up together. May bagay pa ba kayong hindi alam sa isa't isa?"

Tumingin ako kay Remus at ngumiti. "Well, I may have know a few things about him, Your Majesty. Just a few." I said a bit stretching out the last word. Pansin ko ang bahagyang pagtiim bagang nya bago ko binalik ang tingin ko sa emperor. This time ay medyo sumeryoso na ang itsura ko. "I'd like to postponed this conversation about our marriage, Your Majesty. I may not look liked it but I'm a woman who wants to be courted. A woman who will get married not because someone wants it for us.. It's because it's what I want." I firmly said. Partida. Kabado bente ako nito pero kailangan kong sabihin iyon dahil nararamdaman kong kayang-kaya kaming ipakasal ng emperor ora mismo kung gugustuhin nya.
