IN WHAT PIPER MCLEAN THOUGHT TO BE HERE LAST MOMENTS, she could only hear what she thought to be the roaring of her own dying out heartbeat, though that came with the realization that the roaring she heard wasn't that of her own heartbeat. No what she was hearing was the room shaking around her violently. The water she was emerged in was swirling around her, slowly swirling faster the further she sunk down.
With the last of her strength, she attempted to kick upward and she succeeded. Her head broke the surface of the water and she gasped desperately for breath as her arms were swaying around her in an attempt to keep her above surface. With the oxygen returning to her system, she could feel her strength return as well as she looked around.
