I played with the last few grains of cereal in my bowl swooshing the milk from side to side to watch it jump
I'd been done eating almost 10 minutes ago but I found this to be soothing and calming almost
No, I wasn't sulking I was just bored and a bit anxious knowing that hunter was set to be here in 2 days this just helped soothe me a bit it's not like I didn't want him here or anything I was a bit nervous he and I didn't talk for almost one week until a day ago he reminded me that he'd be done with business and I Honestly just didn't know what to expect I wasn't mad that hunter would often need to go on business trips and what not I understood that it was just apart of the job description and if I generally wanted to be with him like I always claimed it was just something I had to accept plus didn't the saying go absence makes the heart grow fonder
"You good?"
I looked up to find Jen looking at me with a worried expression
Damn, I wish I could talk to her about what's going on "yeah why wouldn't I be?" I smiled trying to assure her
"Sorry you just look sad"
"I'm not babe"
"Okay so do you want to do something today? I feel like we haven't hung out in forever and I miss you, friend"
"I'm sorry I think I've got work today Jen"
Jen stared at me with a desolate look on her face that had me starting to feel like shit and maybe I should feel that way the girl missed me and all she wanted to do was catch up and I was knowingly being a jerk
"You know what that's why sick days were invented let me call in right now and you have me for the day what's the plan?"
"Seriously! that's awesome, sorry if you felt like I was forcing you though I really just need my bestie today and to catch up with you to see what's been going on it's like we're in the same house and I see you and you're there but you're not at the same time I can't explain it we both have just been really busy and I miss you"
I smiled sadly suddenly feeling a wave of guilt take over me cause Jennifer wasn't wrong at all I was neglecting her and it really wasn't fair
"I'm sorry Jen"
"Don't apologize please this is what you just call adulting I'm not mad I just miss you"
I nodded my head in understanding
"Okay so I was thinking we could get massages together first then, go fishing maybe I know it's different and all but I find it weird I've never gone fishing before and I'm a bit interested in the experience then after that we go on a shopping spree and when we're done we can come here and binge on a couple of movies what do you think?"
"From all of that, I didn't once hear you mention anything about food"
"Okay we'll grab something to eat before we go fishing"
