She's not perfect but she's sweet,

Not invincible but incredible,

Not uptight but chill,

Not overbearing but understanding,

Not hot but beautiful,

From the inside out.

She has a smile that can light,

An entire room and ignite,

Certain feelings at first sight.

She's a passion for giving,

Her positivity  she makes sure she of sharing,

And for her loved ones, she's caring.

She's a mother by nature,

A true nurturer/ a blessing from the Creator,

With big dreams and bigger heart,

A mindset ready for a new start,

But be aware not to test her patience,

Because then, she could turn to someone else.

She's not the best but at least she's real,

And I hope someday she'll meet,

Someone who will love her for real,

I hope he'll respect her first,

Fall for her all on his knees.

I hope he'll be the yin to her yang,

And for her never be mang,

I hope he'll keep his promise of forever,

And to give them the time forever more.

If you ask me who she is,

I shall whisper to your ears,

That she's the hand shake girl,

With whom you don't want to quarrel.

Author's Note: Do you ever get the feeling that you're the only one trying to hold onto a friendship? I feel like that towards many people, including this girl I wrote this poem for. I was planning to give it to before I graduated, but she didn't even bother to call me on our graduation day so I never bothered. I tried to be there for her many times yet she never did. Not even once. If you ask me why I am even publishing this poem, my answer is simply that I want to acknowledge it. Acknowledge the fact that there are people that won't treat you like the treasure you are. And there's nothing to do about it, which is completely fine. I'm still learning to let go of people's attitude around and towards me. It's takes time to come up with good results, but I'm sure I'll get there soon. A piece of advice for anyone reading this, don't let others opinions of you stir you away from what you truly want to do in life. They're really not worth it. Some people come to your life for a reason, others for a season, and few for a lifetime. Learn to cherish those.
