❀chapter twenty-six - Shiganshina Park

Before finishing Math class, Mr. Ackerman wrote something on the board. We are going on a trip. You gasped, "Is this true?".

Bertholdt smiled, "I heard it from Professor Hange, but I never thought they would convince Mr. Ackerman. If he's our tutor, it means that he goes as well". You laughed, "I think he would rather die".

"What is this?" Mikasa asked. Levi turned around, facing all of you, "We are going on a trip". She rolled her eyes, "Yeah, I can read, but can you say why, where, when...?". Your teacher took out some papers from his bag and handed it to every one of you, "Read this and I'll explain it to you right now". You looked at it. Trip to Shinganshina Natural Park.

Mr. Ackerman went back to the front, "As you can see, we are going to Shinganshina Natural Park tomorrow. We'll spend there one night, meaning that we'll go back here by Wednesday". Sasha raised her hand, "Is it your idea? Don't get me wrong, but you don't look like the type of person who would enjoy this".

"It was Professor Hange's idea, but I thought it was a good way of spending time with each other and reinforce your relationships as classmates" Levi explained. Ymir raised her hand, "In this math class almost everyone is from the same friend group, we don't need to reinforce our relationships". Eren clicked his tongue, "Ymir, do you want him to cancel this trip? Let him think we hate each other, and we'll have more things like this". She rolled her eyes, "My bad".

"I'll explain the rules now" Mr. Ackerman looked directly at Connie and Sasha, "Don't bring drugs. Not even alcohol. I think it's pretty obvious you shouldn't do that, but just in case. There will be a cabin for the girls and one for the boys, so if anyone of you get pregnant, it's not my fault. More groups will go with their respective tutors, so please, don't embarrass me".

Historia clapped her hands, "I'm so excited! What are we going to do exactly?". You read again the paper, "Here it says that we'll learn how to ride a canoe and have a walk in the dark through the forest during the night. Oh, and it also says that we'll visit a... cenote? What is that?".

"It's like a sinkhole in the ground that's filled with water. They're common in Mexico, but I didn't know Shiganshina Park had one" Bertholdt said. Historia bounced her leg, "Woah, that looks scary, but I can't wait to swim there!".

"What are the other groups that are coming with us?" you asked. "Probably the other ones from our same grade" Annie answered behind you. "You know, Hitch, Marlowe, Mina, Floch or Colt".

You sighed, the thought of being a whole day near to Colt made you feel physically tired. Even though he had told you he was in the same situation as you were years ago, you still couldn't fully believe him. You hoped he wouldn't try to talk to you.

"We still have five minutes left, but I have enough with taking care of you for a whole day tomorrow" Levi said. "Leave my class now". Everyone got up, packed their things and left. Eren placed himself next to you, "We have to pack everything this afternoon". You nodded, "Yep, can't wait to spend all the night thinking what to bring".

"GUYS!!!" someone shouted from behind. Before you could turn around to see who said that, an arm was put on your shoulder, same with Eren, forcing you two to get closer, but Hange was in the middle of the bodies. "Are you excited for tomorrow?!" they asked. "It's going to be soooo fun, imagine all the things we'll see!". You laughed, "Aw, I missed being with you on a trip".

They smiled, "Me too, I miss being your tutor like last year!". They then looked at Eren, "Oh, I never noticed how well that manbun suits you! It gives you that 'edgy' look, good choice!". He giggled, "Thank you, Professor Hange. What teachers are coming besides you and Mr. Ackerman?".
