Ace's POV
They are indeed a Power Couple. They deserved it. They are even more productive when they joined a small project together because they completed it earlier than the deadline without compromising the budget and construction safety. Some of our managers actually commended them for doing good for the company.
Kahit naman ang mga teammates nila, iba ang enthusiasm sa trabaho noong bumalik si Engr. Romualdez. Hindi ko na rin madalas makita si Curt sa bar ni Anton. Once, nakita ko siya pero hindi ko na siya masyadong nakausap dahil may kasama siya. She just introduced her as her bestfriend.
All of the people I know in the company were happy to see them together. Ako lang yata ang walang pakialam. Hindi ko lang mabigyan ng justice kung bakit natutuwa ang iba kapag nakikita silang magkasama.
Hindi naman sila mukhang mag-boyfriend.
But all of my thoughts and judgment about Engr. Romualdez went down the drain when I saw Curt taking care of that boy, smiling and looking at him like he was the only person in the room, listening to him attentively like he was the only one speaking for their weekly meeting.
"Enlighten me. How can she show love like that towards a guy who hurt her a few months ago?" Litong-lito akong nagtanong kay Tanya.
"Well. Hindi ko naman kasi sila nakikita, Ace. But based on what you kept on telling me in the past, she really loves the guy. They do exist, you know?"
"I did not see it like that with my Mom towards my Dad."
She sighed, "I don't know how to explain it. Perhaps, Tita Ana is subtle when it comes to expressing her love towards your father. Or maybe, since madalang mo naman silang makita kapag magkasama, kaya ganun."
I shook my head and tried to shift my mind to something else.
"How are you with your boyfriend, Tanya?"
"The fuck, Ace?"
I chuckled a little bit. Hindi siya nagkwento sa akin ng kahit ano kahit anong pilit ko. It's just so hard to get information from someone who has higher mental skills, yeah?
"Tinatanong mo ba ako ng ganyan kasi nangungulit na naman si Tita Ana na makipag-date ka? Don't tell me, you're gradually opening yourself to the idea of relationship because you see from Curt and her boyfriend that true love really exists?"
It's true that Mom doesn't give up setting me up to her friends' daughters. Once in a while, gusto ko na rin pagbigyan pero dahil na lang yun sa nagsasawa na lang ako kakatanggi. Hindi yun dahil sa love story na nakikita ko kila Curt at kay Engr. Romualdez.
I couldn't imagine that I spent the whole night defending to Tanya that I don't really like Engr. Romualdez for Curt. I simply don't like him.
Curt's POV
I don't understand.
Simula nang bumalik si Gio ay ramdam ko ang pagkakaiba sa ikinikilos niya noon sa ngayon. I don't see him spacing out when we were going to dinner dates in the past. We did not have dead air back then when taking a walk at sunset during weekends.
He said he would explain to me what's really happened in his leave. Hinintay ko ang pagkakataon na yun pero hindi kailanman nangyari. Hindi man mahalata ng karamihan, dahil parang mas natutuwa pa sila kapag napapabilis namin ang isang project kapag magkasama kami.
He just wanted to complete it earlier than expected. Siguro dahil hindi na rin namin matiis na magkasama sa iisang proyekto dahil madalas kaming magkainitan sa mga insights.
