IT HAD ONLY been one day since Ophelia delivered the letter. She hadn't received a response yet. She walks into the cafeteria alone. Her friends weren't here today. Layla was sick, and Zoya had a doctor's appointment. She sat alone at her table and started eating her food.
Soon, a bag dropped next to her, slightly startling her. She looked up and saw Noah. He sat down next to her and gave her a small smile. She swallowed the pasta she was chewing on before talking, "Hi?"
Her greeting came out more like a question, but it didn't seem to bother him at all. "Can I sit here? My other . . . friend will be here soon as well."
Ophelia internally grinned, "Yeah, of course. I don't mind." He nods and opens his container filled with rice, some curry on top and a little bit of yogurt. He mixed it all up and took a bite of it. Ophelia's mouth slightly watered.
"That looks so good." She mutters.
Noah chuckles, "It is."
Ophelia's mind goes a bit woozy as she takes in his laugh. It was a short and small laugh, but a laugh nonetheless.
