My heart is breaking on the inside, but on the outside, I only allow myself to grimace. With grounders on every side, my reputation as Reskripa, or my more common name, Jusdreinheda.

I glance up when I hear footsteps walking over. I pull my knees up to my chest when I realise that it's just Clarke.

She lays down her sleeping bag and sits down on it, staring into the fire between us.

"You okay?" She asks, her gaze soft and worried.

I nod, but she tilts her head, unconvinced. I just glance down at my nails, remembering the nights I spent picking our Elliot's dried blood from underneath them.

I jump when I feel a hand on my shoulder.

"Hey," Clarke murmurs, sitting down next to me on my sleeping bag. "My mum taught me how to braid hair when I was younger, do you want me to braid yours?" She asks, changing the topic.

I nod with a small smile on my face.

I close my eyes as she softly tugs on my hair. "I know you're not okay, Hailey." She murmurs after a few minutes. "You can talk about it, if you want."

I take a deep breath and slowly breathe it out. "I'm not okay, but," I sigh. "I don't know if I can talk about it." I murmur, my voice soft.

"That's okay." She mutters, still braiding my hair. After a few moments of silence, she continues. "When I closed the dropship doors, I thought I killed you." She breathes out, her voice getting softer.

I swallow, feeling pain cloud my heart. "You didn't." I murmur, tilting my head to the side to look at her.

"The men at Mount Weather told me that I did and I believed them." She breathes out. "Only for a day though." She says, cracking a small smile.

I do the same, slightly chuckling along with it. "That sounds like the Clarke I know." I murmur.

"You know me better than most, you know." She mutters, tying off the braid. "Now that Finn's dead, I think you're the closest friend I have."

A smile works it's way onto my face as I turn around to face her. "I remember when we first got down to the ground," I chuckle.

"We hated each other." She chuckles, shaking her head. "I guess all those times I caught you stealing from the engineering quarters really didn't pan out well for the ground, huh?" She chuckles.

We both pause, laughing quietly. "I"m glad we became closer, Clarke." I smile.

"Me too, Hailey, me too." She whispers.

-----------

After 15 minutes of tossing and turning, I give up. Opting to just stare at the stars.

I hear footsteps get closer and closer until they stop beside me, causing my hand to inch towards my sword that lays next to me.

"You and Clarke should come back to our side, Hails." Bellamy murmurs, crouching down and moving hair out of my eyes.

I relax, realising that it's just him. I glance up at him before scooting over in my sleeping bag. "We need to trust them, Bellamy." I murmur as he slips in behind me.

"I know." He murmurs, his breath fanning against my neck. "I like you hair."

I smile. "Thank you, Clarke did it."

"I know, I was watching." He murmurs.

"Stalker." I teese, a small smile lifting my lips.

"But you love it." He chuckles.

I shake my head, chuckling. "Yeah, yeah."
