I am nervous. Fucking nervous.

My right hand twirled the ring around my right ring finger. My heart was pounding in my ear and I took a deep controlled breath.

My brother stood next to me as my best man. Next to the place where Anastasia would stand was her bridesmaid, Felicia. Since we have been back in Italy, she has come to us a few times as a maid and has become friends with the Russian.

I asked Anastasia to marry me a few months ago at a dinner by the lake. She said yes. This isn't just marriage, though. This is also passing on the post of boss of the Ramirez family.

With this marriage I pass on my title to Raffaele.

I stood in front of an altar draped with flowers on the grass in front of our villa. Only a few trustworthy men and women were present.

The lawn was further adorned with a buffet and a wooden dance floor. Behind me stood Vera, my cousin. She had the talents to lead the speech.

Soft music began to play and I saw two figures leave the house and walk towards me, passing between the guests.

My father and Anastasia walked up the path toward me, arms hooked. My heart had never been so pounding as it was now. I wiped a tear from my face before anyone could notice.

My father gave her hand to mine and she stood facing me. Her white wedding dress made her look like a princess. She looked beautiful.

Vera cleared her throat behind us and began to speak. "We are gathered here today in the presence of family and friends to celebrate the wonderful marriage of Anastasia and Antonio."

I looked to Anastasia and mouthed, "You look beautiful."

A smile curled across her lips and she mouthed back, "So do you."

My grip on her fingers tightened.

Vera continued to speak. "Today is a day that they both have been thinking about for a long time. Today, their journey alone is over and they are starting the marriage together. We all wish them both all the best in their lives."
