"Good" he said, kissing me softly
"I love you" he said

"I'll be back at 5, text me" he said.

"I will" I said. I know if I didn't he'd have everyone else there texting him updates anyway.

"This looks... boring" Cleo commented
I chuckled
"You never stepped foot in a lawyer's office before?" I asked
"Not if I could help it" she said.

"Right, let's get this over with, I have a cake tasting at 3" Alex said
"You're such a drama Queen" Colt chuckled
"I just want the best for my bride" he said, taking his sunglasses off as he started up the steps to the building.

"Weddings" Cleo commented in disgust
"Not a fan?" I asked
"Never" she said, walking up the steps
"Really, I've always thought you'd look so nice in a wedding dress" I teased her.

"I never thought I'd see the day" Cassian laughed
"Fuck off, I wanted to do something nice for her, we didn't exactly have the greatest year last year" I said
The baby was something to look forward.

And I was ecstatic that we were having another.

"So you decided to make a crib?" He asked from his seat atop of the drawers
"Yeah" I said, having took my jacket and shirt off, left in my vest
I lied to Viv yes, I was actually spending the day to make the baby's new room to surprise her.

And after today, she'll definitely need cheering up, Lord wasn't going to leave either of them anything good
And a face off with the organisation, even if it was in peaceful circumstances, was my worst nightmare.

"And how stressed are you?" He asked
"Very, but she text me, they're there, they're just waiting to be called in" I said, trying my hardest not to think about it
I'll only overthink and then storm down there and I knew that's not what my girl wanted.

"You should be more concerned with your own relationship anyway" I said
"I don't have a relationship to worry about" he said
"Exactly, you clearly like her" I said simply

"So? We're casual, that's what I want, that's what she wants, we don't all want to settle down and have a family like you and Vivienne" he said
"We can't all become soft" he chuckled.
"I am not soft" I said.

"You're making a cradle" he deadpanned
"Fuck off" I said, going back to work.

I hope she likes it.

"Thank you for meeting with us here today" a woman said, dressed in a suit with her red hair pulled back.
"Yes, thank you for reaching out" Matt, Colt's lawyer said
Cleo and Alex were sat either side of us, the dozen men Lucian had sent were waiting outside.

"Right well, we're here today to establish your fathers will" the woman said
"Can't even say his name?" I asked
"That's confidential" she said
"As is yours I assume" I said
She smiled, folding her arms on the desk.

"Let's cut to the chase, we know Lord is dead. We know you two are responsible, and right now we're willing to give you what he left you, rather than gutting both of you and stringing you up as examples" she said
"Examples? Of what good agents look like?Lord clearly never had the right skills if a rogue and a civilian supposedly caused his death" I said.

"I'm not sure this should be discussed in my presence" Matt said
"Then leave" Alex said
"That won't be necessary, we're simply here to deliver what is needed, then we'll be done, for now" the woman said, glancing at us.
