Day out

"The floor seemed wonderfully solid. It was comforting to know I had fallen and could fall no further"                               -Sylvia Plath

It feels weird being without Lucian for a day, we'd been stuck to each other ever since he found out I was pregnant.
But I needed to take care of some business and I couldn't very well take Dimitri with me.

He was going to be one hell of a devil. But he was still just a baby, I didn't need him seeing all the blood I was about to spill.
I revelled in everyone else's fear, but not my little baby.

I just hope Sugar can cope with him at work.

"Ssh, Mater' Bozh'ya boy" I groaned, rocking him in my arms
Mother of god
I was trying to sit through this shitty meeting, but Dimitri wouldn't stop shouting nonsense and throwing his hands in the air.

"Um- as I was saying-" the man at the front of the room began
"Dada" he shouted loudly, nearly fucking deafened me but I couldn't help the hint of a smile that wanted to surface
I loved hearing him call me that, he was my little devil and he was something me and Viv made together.

He was part of both of us.

"Can't you put him somewhere else?" Someone along the table asked, sat back casually in his seat
I looked at him for a moment, and he quickly realised he just said the wrong thing. To his fucking boss.

"Everyone out" I said, and everyone quickly scrambled for the door, except this little idiot
He knew not to move
"Cassian?" I called behind me
"Yeah?" He asked
"Take Dimitri out will ya? Ya know... 'put him somewhere else'" I said, glaring at this guy shaking in his seat.

Cassian took him from my arms and left the room, I stood up, taking my jacket off
"I-I didn't mean anything by it, I-it was just an off handed comment boss" he stuttered
I rolled my sleeves up
"No, it was an insult against my fucking son" I said calmly, picking a chair up in my hands calmly.
